1981 Ford Thunderbird Additional Info:

Purchased brand new at Casey Stoudt Ford in Valley City, ND, this car has never left the immediate area. It has only had two owners in 37 years and the second owner never drove it! The first owner had the car for over 30 years and put only 63,000 miles on it in all that time. The second owner bought it 5-6 years ago, parked it in the corner of his farm shop, and never moved it again until a few weeks ago when he started it in anticipation of getting it sold to someone who will detail the car, fix the handful of little things the car needs and drive it or take it to car shows to share this survivor with the rest of the world!
This all-original survivor was ordered with virtually all available 1981 options. It features a 302 V-8 engine, automatic transmission, rear wheel drive, air, tilt, cruise, power windows, power locks, AM/FM radio, remote mirrors, an exterior decor group, an interior decor group and much much more. The Pastel Sand finish is in excellent overall condition and features a Caramel vinyl half-roof and a saddle-tan vinyl interior.
The car starts easily, idles smoothly, accelerates powerfully and tracks down the road straight and true. No quirks, no shimmy, no shakes, no pulling, pulsing or shortcomings of any kind. Within the last month the car has received all new brakes, new power brake booster, had the shocks replaced and the "rollover" headlights and power windows put back into good working order. Fly in, jump in the car and drive home in your own time machine!
The car needs three things: 1. After being stored for 5-6 years, it needs to be completely detailed inside, outside and under the hood. It's reasonably clean but just needs to be polished and shined from one end to the other. 2. The headliner has drooped over the years and has been re-attached using button fasteners made for that purpose. (A new headliner would be ideal.) 3. There is a single spot of rust on the drivers-side, rear quarter panel (see photo). This single cosmetic flaw on the car is the size of a silver dollar, barely penetrates the sheet metal and detracts from the otherwise remarkable overall condition of the car.
We want you to be completely confident purchasing this car...please don't hesitate to e-mail with any questions or concerns you may have. If you want to fly in and drive it home, we will gladly pick you up at the Fargo, ND airport (FAR). If you want to have the car shipped to you, we will do whatever we can to accommodate your shipper. (And, check my feedback and bid with confidence...no disappointments here!)
