1955 Ford F500 Additional Info:
1955 FORD F-500
I have owned this truck for a few years. I was told that the truck was originally purchased by a Ford tractor dealer, and it was used as their delivery truck. It comes with the original leather key chain that says "Broadway Motor Company, Broadway, VA." I was also told it was the original mileage on the truck as well. The lettering you see on the doors is vinyl and it will peel off with a hair dryer.
About two years ago I went through the truck to get it back on the road.
New:TiresFront Wheel Cylinders (rebuilt the rear wheel cylinders)Master CylinderRebuilt CarburetorComplete tune up, etc.Replaced all the wood on the bed with pressure treated lumbernew battery installed last month (still has the original 6V positive ground system)
The truck starts, runs and drives great. It's a 4 speed with a single speed rear so she is geared low. I have had it up to 60-65, but it's winding up at that point. It drives great! Steers easy for a big truck with no power steering.
I have only put a couple hundred miles on the truck since putting it on the road a year ago. It's a great parade truck. The truck is probably 99% original.
The only negatives to the truck are listed below.-You will see a few small spots or rust in places. See pics. Overall the truck is very solid.-The speedometer has never worked in the truck since I have had it.-The odometer was working when I put the truck on the road. The speedometer cable was noisy and I am assuming it finally broke. So the actual mileage is probably 150 or so more than what is showing.-The signal lights work when they want to. The rest of the lights work fine-There is a small leak in the bottom right corner of the windshield during very heavy rains-There is a very small dent that you can barely notice in the bottom of the passenger door. I tried to show it in the pic, but it's only noticeable when the light hits it just right
This is pretty much an original 1955 Ford truck. Feel free to come check it over. It is located in Buckingham, VA.
