1937 Ford Cabriolet Additional Info:

This cool 1937 Ford cabriolet not only has a fantastic look, but it was professionally built for NASCAR legend Bill Elliot. With components built by NASCAR legends like Ernie Elliot, it's not only beautiful to look at, but brings the horsepower where it really matters. The brilliant red paint is the first thing you notice, but the level of detail on this '37 Ford is what really keeps your attention. The body is Gibbons fiberglass and it has a traditional look that makes it instantly identifiable. The grille is the original style, not one of the modern interpretations of a '37, and for that reason alone this one should stand out. There's a ton of time invested in the paint and bodywork, with smooth, glossy surfaces that reflect clearly, all indicative of tons of hand labor. Details like the headlights with their teardrop-shaped lenses are correct Ford pieces, while '39 Ford teardrop taillights give it a familiar look out back. The pinstripes are artfully done to emphasize the '37 Ford's curvy quarters and we love the way the simple chrome bumpers look old-fashioned. Shaved door handles, a smooth trunk, and a minimum of add-ons give it a clean, uncluttered look that is as timeless as the '37 Ford itself. The beautifully stitched custom interior uses a unique bench seat up front to make it look cool but remain all-day comfortable. A center arm rest is just a good idea, and the door panels were sculpted to match and offer a sweeping bit of leather just for contrast. Both seat backs tilt forward for access to the rear seat, which is specious enough for full-sized adults. The hallmark of a professional built rod is the switchgear, and you'll note that the door handles, window switches, and other extraneous hardware have been cleverly hidden out of sight, giving the interior a clean, minimalist look. A full array of Dakota Digital gauges across the center of the instrument panel give it a clean, futuristic look and the tilt column with a matching tan leather steering wheel means this car is comfortable enough to drive daily. The entertainment system has been stashed under the dash where it's mostly out of sight and the A/C vents are discreetly built into the outboard edges of the dash. The top is a removable Carson-style hardtop that seals up rather well and the trunk is fully upholstered to match the interior. The engine is a 351 cubic inch V8 built by noted engine builder Ernie Elliot, and with that kind of pedigree, you'd better believe it's a runner. There's an upgraded cam inside, a 4-barrel carburetor up top, and an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold to keep it fed. Most of the under-hood components were painted to match the bodywork, including the alternator and A/C compressor, so it has a dressed-up look that works well with the rest of the bare aluminum components. Custom headers lead to a fabricated exhaust system that tucks up into the frame and sounds spectacular. Every single component underneath, including the suspension, AOD 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission and 9-inch rear end, has been painted to match as well, and the preservation is very impressive. A Mustang II front suspension and 4-wheel disc brakes make this Ford feel quite modern and it has an awesome hot rod look with Billet Specialties wheels and staggered 195/60/15 front and 235/75/15 rear Hankook radials.Beautifully built, there's no aspect of this rod that hasn't been buffed, smoothed, or hand-made. With a great history behind it, this is an awesome cabriolet that stands head and shoulders above the rest. Call today!
