1985 Ford Econoline E-150 Van.
This is a super-clean, original-paint 3rd generation Econoline cargo van. Only 41,702 miles!
Factory 302 V8 with AOD (Automatic Overdrive Transmission) runs and shifts great. I have been driving it regularly for the last year and it has been a great van. When I bought it the odometer was at just 33k miles. It doesn't use oil, doesn't overheat and has good oil pressure. No active leaks other than typical residual leaks. Previous owner did convert it to an edelbrock 4bbl 600 cfm carburetor (1406 model with fuel economy calibration), edlbrock performer intake and lokar AOD shift linkage. The Lokar linkage was set-up properly and it shifts crisp and predictably. It has a custom non-catalyst single exhaust with a large muffler to reduce exhaust noise. All intake/exhaust modifications were done professionally with the focus on improving fuel economy and increasing reliability through simplification of systems. It has ample power and has been returning approximately 14-15 mpg in mixed driving condition. If you live in an area that requires an emissions equipment inspection this van will NOT pass a stringent inspection. The A/C works and has been converted to modern R-134 refrigerant. The A/C compressor is bit on the noisy side when the compressor is engaged but it does work well. Tires are newer with 75% remaining. Brakes are solid with no noise or pulling. Front end feels solid and it drives down the road straight like a van with 42K miles should. Everything except the cruise control works. Horn, wipers etc. work. All of the gauges work. This van has a dual fuel tanks and I actively use both tanks when refueling. The fuel gauge and tank selector switch work properly.
ONCE AGAIN... This van will not pass an emissions equipment test. Check your local and state laws requiring emissions testing before bidding.
This van has sat under a carport or in the garage for most of it's life and it shows. Original paint shines like new. The original owner converted it into a homebuilt camper-van shortly after purchasing it new and seldom used it. I removed all the camper interior when I purchased it and was pleased to find the original interior in excellent condition underneath. It also had a pair of aftermarket "captain's chairs" up front as well. They were just too ugly and had to go. So, I replaced them with two decent, presentable original upholstery ford econoline seats from the same era. The driver seat is in good shape but the passenger seat does have a very small 1" tear on the seat bottom. The original headliner is in excellent shape. The dash, dash pad and instrumentation is nearly perfect. The steering wheel has virtually no wear. It has a professionally installed Sony stereo (with usb port) and speakers mounted in the front doors. This van still smells like a new 1980s ford vehicle on the inside. Keep in mind it was previously paneled so it does have random small holes from hardware used to attach the paneling. There is a custom made steel shelf on the rear, driver's side above the wheel-well that holds a toolbox and fluids. It is easily removed if not wanted. The body itself is nearly perfect in it's original paint. It does have a few small chips, dings and light scratches as to be expected. Overall... it looks great. The previous owner did install some exterior lights which I removed. As a result there are 2 small holes on each fender (pictured). He also had back-up lights on the mounted on the rear bumper which rubbed some of the paint off (pictured). Two small holes on each corner of the hood from a previously mounted reflector (pictured).
Overall, this van is in exceptional condition for a 30+ year old cargo but please keep in mind that it is not perfect. It does not currently have any problems or obvious impending problems that would prevent it from being driven to it's new location. With that being said... This van is being sold as-is, where-is with no warranty written, expressed or implied. It is the buyer's responsibility to perform all necessary due diligence before bidding. Once again, this van will NOT pass emissons equipment test.
