1960 Ford Galaxie starliner Additional Info:

1960 Ford Starliner 2 door hardtop bubble top. Wimbledon White on metallic sky blue. Vehicle has been slowly restored over a two year period. Paint, interior and carpet, engine, transmission, steering and suspension, trim and chrome have all been re-done. This vehicle came with the larger 352 engine. I have completely rebuilt a 390ci and mated it to the original, rebuilt 352 heads, an Edelbrock Performer intake and a new Edelbrock 4 bbl carburetor. Has about 10k miles on it now. Dual exhaust with chrome tips as well. Car sits on Cragar 15 inch wheels all around. Lowering blocks in rear and 1 and 1/4 coils cut at front. Has factory green tint glass all around. I do not have the original steering wheel but it can be purchased on eBay. Most parts that have been removed come with the car. That includes the door handles, the hood and trunk emblems and trunk lock. Door and trunk rubber kits. Rear washboard trim, rear armrests, rear window vertical molding right and left sides. (the missing rear window trim) Many more small parts. (see photo in listing) Car runs great and shows well. A good candidate for a restoration or just drive it as it is. I drive it daily and I believe it is the nicest Starliner in Southern California. (I'm biased and I also am probably the only guy driving a Starliner as his daily driver in this County.)
This car is truly an incredible vehicle in this color combination and with all chrome interior trim.Contact me by email and I can send some short videos to you of the car running and/or some close-ups if you want something like that before bidding. In my opinion, thecar is a 7 out of 10 for completeness and cleanliness. It is daily driven so it's got it's scuffs, dings and scratches but it's close to an 8 I think. Again, that'smy opinion. Come take a closer look or ask for more detailed pics during the auction. Thanks.

TheFord Starlinerwas the fastback version of the flagshipGalaxieline of full-sizeFordsin 1960 and 1961. .

In 1960, the Starliner hardtop, along with the Sunliner convertible, made up the Galaxie Special Series.[1]It utilized the high-level Galaxie trim, however the Galaxie name on the trunklid was replaced by Starliner script.[1]In 1961 the Starliner hardtop and Sunliner convertible were part of the Galaxie Series.[2]

The Ford Starliner shares its name with the 1952-1954Studebaker Starlinerand theLockheed L-1649Aairplane.

Characterized by their thin roof pillars, fastback styling and slippery aerodynamics, they symbolized 1960s jet age design. While the '60 & '61 body styles share only their roof lines and chassis, they did share the same overall styling concept.

The base engine in 1960 & 1961 was the aging 292CID Y-block V-8, with the optional 352 motor that was originally introduced in 1958. In 1961 Ford offered the new Thunderbird 390 cubic-inch motor in 3 versions with the top line offering in 375 horsepower. There was also a dealer option for a 6V-401 HP that came with a three-2 barrel manifold and carb setup in the trunk to be installed by the dealer or the buyer.

In 1962 the Galaxie 500 (and 500 XL) replaced the Starliner as the top offering. 68,641 Starliners were built in 1960,[1]and 29,669 were built in 1961.[2]

I need to clarify this car has a PLEATHER interior...white vinyl seats, door panels and rear tray. NOT leather. I saw that I checked that box but it won't let me un-check it now so...be advised. I wish it were leather but I couldn't find that many albino horses when I needed them.
