This American Classic was driven in to, and parked in a pole barn in Wray Colorado in early 90's. There it sat for 14 years until it was resurrected. Prior to that, it spent its life in the dry climes of the state of Arizona. The mileage is believed to be accurate based on previous owner's testimony and receipts. This is a genuine survivor.

It appears that the paint is original and has the character that goes with it. The hood had a re-spray years ago. Interior looks great and appears to be original. The chrome is not perfect, but real nice and the factory tinted glass is very nice and is crack/separation free.

This car is solid as are the floor pans, and there are no apparent current rust issues. Has a good spare and correct tire jack. The A/C is complete, the system is pressurized and works. It needs a charge, but I am unable to locate R12 freon. The heater was hardly ever used and was bypassed. The blower motor works.

All gages work as do the interior and exterior lights, including the sequential turn signals. The radio, power seat, power door locks work. The power antenna works but the mast is missing.

This American Classic starts up on the first crank, makes no funny noises and doesn't smoke. It runs strong and shifts smooth. There is a minor engine oil leak from an unknown source and a minor power steering leak from either the pump itself or from a hose. It runs cool, has great oil pressure and the system charges. This car is a safe and clean daily driver.

This 51-year-old survivor, is not a trailer queen and it's not perfect. It is however, a hard to find, highly desirable "Q" CODE 1966 Thunderbird. As is sits now, it is an original survivor. It has huge potential, and requires little to complete. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS FOR MORE DETAILS.

WHAT MAKES A CLASSIC A COLLECTIBLE AMONG COLLECTORS? It's really very simple. If the car is the "first" of,or a "last" of, it's a must have.

The 1966Jet Birdwas the last year of production for the iconic classicJet AgeThunderbird.

The cockpit was aJet Agefantasy environment with itsFlight-Deckinstrument panel incorporating floating-sphere instruments and aircraft thrust-control style levers to control minor functions. The first-class section was furnished with thin-shell bucket seats while passengers in the rear cabin were treated to unique wrap-around curved banquettes evoking a cocktail lounge.

The hardtop version of the newJet Birdwas the first U.S. car to feature windows-up flow-through ventilation; the air extractors are in a full-width grille beneath the rear window.

The first year the larger 428-cubic-inch (7.0 L) V-8 became optional, rated at 345 gross horsepower and providing a notable improvement in 0-60 acceleration to about 9 seconds. It was the first year for the full width one piece sequential tail lights. And it was the first year for the Town Hardtop styling.

MORE FUN FACTS

All 1966 models featured a new front clip. A flatter hood, re-shaped front fenders, new headlight buckets, new egg crate grille with large Thunderbird emblem, new bumper guards, a single bumper bar, and painted roll pan replaced the previous two model year's two-piece front bumper.

The rear taillights were revised, now a 3-piece unit going the full width across the rear, the backup light now located in the center section replaced the formerly rear roll pan mounted lamps.

A new Town Hardtop model was offered, featured a roof with blind quarter panels for a more 'formal' look. and all 428 V8 equipped T-Birds had the new C6 3 speed automatic installed.

NOW THAT'S AN ICONIC COLLECTIBLE AMERICAN CLASSIC WITH MUSCLE.
