Rare, loaded, original, and beautiful 1978 Ford F-150 Ranger 4x4 with the hard-to-find factory Explorer trim package. Still wearing its original and gorgeous Q-code Tangerine paint with factory Explorer stripes, she’s a head-turner for sure, and not a truck that is easily forgotten.

A two-owner truck since new with just over 81,000 original miles and no rust... original down to the paint with nothing to hide... they are only original once; this is a rare opportunity to own a genuine survivor.

A well-optioned and easy-to-drive truck featuring the powerful 400 V8 engine, C6 heavy-duty automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, four-wheel drive, and of course the rare Explorer trim package. I’m a huge Ford truck fan, and I have never seen another just like this.

This truck just received a full professional detail inside and out, and is in wonderful condition... the original factory Tangerine paint still shines almost like new, as you can see. While many old Ford trucks run around on some sort of generic aftermarket wheels, this truck still rolls on original factory steel wheels with original restored Explorer wheel covers! The tires are BF Goodrich Rugged Trail T/A’s in very nice condition, and perfectly sized to the truck, if I do say so myself. New Rancho RS5000 shock absorbers all around, great power front disc brakes, and a versatile 3.50 axle ratio make the truck a pleasure to drive. The bed features a genuine Line-X heavy-duty (and expensive!) spray-in bed liner. The truck wore a light canopy for most of its’ life; the tailgate is as mint as you will ever find, since it was wrapped in a furniture blanket in the garage for decades!

The original Explorer interior upholstery is also in great condition, featuring the classic Chamois vinyl and plaid cloth seat, with matching original tan carpet. The dash is beautiful, the dash pad is un-cracked, the door panels original and nice, and the original headliner is still in place... You just don’t find them this original and nice anymore. Even the steering wheel remains original and in nice condition.

The truck is in sound daily-driver mechanical condition with good brakes, a fresh tune up, and new fluids. Super easy to drive, steer, and stop with full power steering, not power-assist as with some of the earlier models.

This is fantastic classic Ford that will turn more heads than a new $60k truck, at a fraction of the cost.
