1931 Ford Model A Additional Info:
I call this a Model A Ford Taxicab because the chassis and running gear is a 1931 Model A Ford. This is not a show car but a fun car. I have taken this car to car shows and almost always win PEOPLE'S CHOICE. I chose the Model A Ford chassis and running gear for its reliability in always starting, stopping, and driving as Model A Fords do. The Chrysler body was on a 116 inch wheel base and now sits on a Model A wheel base of l03 1/2 wheel base.
Taxi driver completely enclosed from passengers. Has his own cubical enclosed with heavy duty blue plexiglass just like the taxis in the 1930's Right front passenger's seat can only be entered from the rear of cab like the other passengers.
The body is a Chrysler and is titled as a 1927 Chrysler.
The seats are new modern type, sliding in front, stationary in back. Back seat is tan with headrest, front is blue gray with headrest. Body is very solid with no rust. You can expect some imperfections in the fenders' paint. Has a "Sparky Start" for easy starting. Still a 6 volt original system.
Headlights, parking lights, tail lights and turn signals in back all work. Inside the cab, you have a beautiful Taxi Meter, Coin Changer, Vintage Clock and Radio Dial. See pictures. Tires and wheels on chassis are 21 inch with white wall tires from a 1929 Ford. All glass is new. Driver's side door has new glass but uninstalled. It has a Volkswagen gas tank mounted in the rear with an electric fuel pump. I estimate the value of the accessories including the trailer and its contents to be around $5,000. Contact me for a list and approximate value.
The taxicab has a 2 wheel swivel wheel trailer that attaches with two arms to the back of the taxicab so that when backing the trailer, it all backs just like the vehicle. Trailer has a trailer jack in front and back so it is free standing when not attached to the vehicle. New tires and tubes on trailer. Lights on the trailer not hooked up. Trailer comes with 2 trunks and 5 suitcases all with travel stickers. If Buyer does not want trailer, trunks and suitcases you can deduct $800.00 from the total purchase price.
THINGS NEEDED: Speedometer not hooked up but I have both the Ford and Chrysler cables but they need to be blended together. Driver's side rear door handle (outside) broken but still usable. Far back windows installed in a fixed position. Right front door glass trim not correct but looks ok.
Licensed and insured since 2012 and fun to drive. I also have pictures of the build as it progressed that I will send to winning bidder.
