1989 Ford Mustang GT Additional Info:
This car will blow your mind. I am the 3rd owner and YES IT ONLY HAS 5,400 MILES ON IT!! The original owner was a collector in NY and had it until 2009 when his estate sold it another collector in NC. The NC owner had 37 other cars in a climate controlled building and only drove this gem to a Mustang convention annually. I found it and bought it in 2015 with 2,727 verified miles on it. I had it inspected at the time by a Ford dealership in NC and an independent mechanic. Neither could believe how brand new and perfect the car was. When I took possession, it had the original Gatorback tires, Motorcraft battery, and plastic on the stereo and instrument cluster. I took it to my local Midas for a check up and inspection, they were amazed. I took it to my local Ford dealer (looking for something wrong with the thing) and they called it "perfect" and made an offer at the time to buy for the showroom floor so they could park it next to a 50th Anniversary GT. I will gladly take to any local mechanic or dealership of your choice for a full inspection.
What have done to it? I replaced the battery (didn't trust a 25+ year old battery!), took off the original turbine wheels, added new tires (Gatorbacks and factory wheels will come with vehicle, pic included), had the AC converted and heater core replaced (By Ford dealership and still under Ford warranty), replaced rubber around doors, hatchback, and sunroof (I'm OCD and just wanted to do it). A few months ago I upgraded the perfectly working factory stereo with a bluetooth head unit from Crutchfield using the custom wiring harness that allowed for no cut wires and used all factory plugs. Switching back to factory cassette will literally take 30 minutes (all parts in box with vehicle. I also had the the sun roof tinted darker to prevent sun damage through the moon roof while outside. I also added a cold air intake (have all factory parts saved in in perfect order if you want to switch back, very easy to do, nothing was cut or modified. I also had Flowmaster 50 Delta Flow mufflers installed at Midas. Didn't want it loud and obnoxious, just a little healthier sounding than factory. Of course I have receipts for everything. If there was anything wrong with this car, I would list it, I have nothing to hide. I recommend you have it looked it at if you're serious about buying it, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
This car has never seen snow, gravel roads, or a pot hole. It has been in a climate controlled garage its entire life and has showroom quality perfect paint and interior. Drives like a dream, AC is COLD, ZERO leaks or mechanical issues, body perfect, ZERO rust, scratches, or dents. All glass is original, never had a cigarette near it or in it, and everything about this car is as tight and dependable as a 2017 off the showroom floor.
I am proud of it, love it, know how rare it is, and would keep it over any Mustang for sale on eBay or anywhere else. The ONLY reason I am selling it is because of a knee problem that prevents me from being able to use a clutch and I am unsure if I'll be able to drive it again. That being said, I will not sell to just anyone, and I will not sell it cheap. If it doesn't sell, I will keep in garage (plenty of space) and if I am able to recoup full use of my knee, start driving her again.
Say what you will and think what you want, if you are a Mustang person, you will not find a better car than this one. I would feel 100% comfortable driving with my family across the country in this car or driving it every day as a primary car, but I'm hoping whoever gets her will do neither, and enjoy cruising on weekends and to car shows as has been the case since June 1989.
I would consider discussing a trade for a 2015 GT Premium, automatic transmission with low miles. Thank you
