1966 Ford Mustang GT with Red & Parchment Pony Interior Additional Info:

Super Sweet 1966 Mustang GT. This is a REAL GT as can be verified through the VIN number. Gorgeous factory Signal Red exterior with white factory vinyl top. New Red and Parchment Pony Interior with Palomino trim. This car has had a frame up restoration. The paint and body work were professionally done and new bumpers, windshield, interior, carpet, wheels, tires, brakes, mufflers, tailpipes, gas tank, seat belts, master cylinder, etc., etc. have been added. The body panels are straight. No wavy looking side panels. The interior is amazing with a full length console that has courtesy lighting, Rally Pak and walnut steering wheel. The doors, hood and trunk all open and shut like they did from the factory. All the gauges, lights, signal lights, brake lights, wipers, Rally Pak gauges work. Everything on the car works except the original radio that is still in the car. The radio was not hooked up when I bought the car and I think the previous owner had an aftermarket radio in there that he kept. When I was replacing carpet I found speaker wires going to the trunk. I don't listen to music so I did not hook it back up but the wiring is there. The engine is a 289 V-8 with a big Edelbrock carb that has the electric choke that works. Car starts right up and idles great. The transmission is a three speed manual. Disc brakes up front. Car runs great. I have included a picture of the engine number. (engine numbers 5H28 and C5AE- 6015E) That number comes from behind the starter. I had the starter off when I installed the new clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing and had the flywheel re-finished. The engine is strong. The car shows to be an "A" Code 225 h.p. car v.s. a "K" code 275 h.p. but it runs like a K code. It could be a K code engine since it is a GT. The engine number might tell someone who knows about decoding numbers.

The car was assembled in Metuchen, N.J. and was the 110,845th car out of 422,416 that were produced.

This car was restored as it came from the factory with these options:

289 c.i. V-8 with 4 barrell

Manual Disc Brakes

GT Equipment Group

Rally Pack Instrumentation

Styled Steel Wheels

2-speed electric Wipers

Tinted Windshield

Tinted Glass

Radio and Antenna

Deluxe Steering Wheel

Pony Interior

Vinyl Top

6.95 X 14 Whitewall Tires

Car came to me from a long-term Pennsylvania ownership.

The car needs nothing now. I replaced the rear end lube, tranny lube, brake fluid engine oil and filter last week. It is a very high quality driver that will win local car shows and be a hit at any cruise-in.

I am not a dealer. I just love cars and am always buying a good car to make them better and have some fun with. I have had my fun and now have my eye on my next project. This car will bring top dollar because it is a top shelve car. If you want a classic, vintage, good looking Mustang GT to get in and go have some fun without having to repair/fix/replace a bunch of stuff, this might be the car for you. I will deliver the car free of charge on a trailer within 200 miles of my home. The car is For Sale locally as well so if I close the auction that means it sold here.
