This hard to find 1957 Mercury M-100 1/2 ton shortbed pick up truck has been treated to a full frame off rebuild.

Wearing it's original faded red paint and faded door logos, coupled withnice wheels and killer stance this truck looks fantastic.

Don't let the time worn looks fool you though!!

Everything under that rough exterior is either brand new, or in excellent condition. This truck will surprise you !

It starts instantly, runs perfectly, handles extremely well, stops on a dime, burns rubber, turns heads wherever it goes, cruisessmooth and easyat 80 mph and even gets great gas mileage!!

This truck was professionally built approximately 3 years and 8000km's ago(5000 miles), there are no issues that need to be addressed. No bugs that need to be worked out, no noises, no leaks.

Full profesional frame off rebuild included fully modernizing and updating the truck to produce a safe, fun, unique, enjoyable and dependable collector truck.

Chassis:

Fully blasted and painted frame. Fully boxed(step boxed) with a mild c-notch in the rear.

Independent front suspension. Rack and pinion steering. Great handling, very responsive. Nice beefy components, big sway bar, 12" rotors, etc..

4wheel power disc brakes, again large components, great predictable, smooth stopping power for emergecies at today's highway speeds.

All new fuel lines, brake lines, rear mounted fuel tank, new performance rear leaf springs, new shocks, new spring hangers. Springs and shocks moved outboard for better axle control, better ride and handling.

All new cab mounts and all new hardware.

Powertrain:

Ford 4.6L SOHC V8, Low mileage 77 000kms (46 000miles). Taken from 2008 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. (P71) Runs Flawlessly! Great MPG!! Unbeatable reliability!, super crisp throttle response.

All of the good police package stuff was incorporated. Variable speed electric fan, engine oil cooler, transmission cooler, power steering fluid cooler, A/C condensor, dual exhaust, etc. No custom hoses, no butchering, all easily serviced and replaced.

Easily maintained, affordable, and deadly reliable. You can drive this truck from coast to coast. (Several hundred times)

4r70W Automatic transmission. (heavy duty 4 speed automatic with overdrive). Equipped with an "overdrive cancel" button on the dash for towing or engine braking on long downhills.

2008 Ford Mustang 8.8" Limited slip rear differential with 3.73 gears and disc brakes. Fully overhauled, the gearing is right on the money with the overdrive transmission and rear tire size.

Electrical/Interior:

All new wiring and 21 circuit fuse panel. All new lights.

New electric wipers. Drive-by-wire cruise control.New horn. 4 speakers, amp and MP3 connections. Remote keyless entry.

All new Classic Insturments guages (look fantastic!)

New stainless Ididit tilt column, New Lecarra wheel, original Mercury horn button.

New Vintage Air -heat- defrost -A/C unit, billet dash knobs.

New sound deadener and underlay, new carpet. Late model bench seat, tons of legroom!

Awesome Gennie swan neck floor mount gear shifter.

New modern hanging brake pedal and chrome gas pedal.

All new 3 point shoulder belts and center lap belt.

Body:

Original paint has been left untouched. Has not been polished or clear coated or faked.

The sheet metal has some dents, dings, scrapes and scars. The sheet metal does fit quite nicely. Looks very straight and square.

The truck stillretains all of its hard to find Mercury emblems and VIN tag.

The underside of the cab was completed blasted, all new cab mounts were fabricated, the floors were repaired, the firewall was completed welded up and smoothed out. New inner cab steps were installed, new inner and outer rear cab corners were welded in.

The underside of the floor and the inner cab steps were blasted, primed, painted seam sealed, and covered in red spray-on bedliner.

The firewall was primed and painted in a nice constrasting bright white.

If you want a shiny, fully painted show truck, this truck will NOT have to come apart again, only the exterior needs paint!

All new glass was installed (tinted side windows and rear glass). All new weatherstripping. Nice quiet ride. Doors shut great.

This is a comfortable driving truck!!

The steel bedfloor is wavy. It has been covered in an aged plywood bedliner with a locking toolbox.

The tailgate is in fairly tough condition, but functions well and matches the rest of the truck. Mercury tailgate are not reproduced.

Overall, this is a rare, hard to find 1957 Mercury Shortbed pick up truck that has been treated to a full mechanical Restomod upgrade.

With a killer "rat rod" shop truck look, perfect stance, smooth ride, crisp handling, plenty of reliable power and a comfortable interior, this truckis as enjoyable as it is collectable.
