1962 Ford Falcon Additional Info:

Up for sale is a 1962 Ford Falcon that has been one of those projects that just does not get finished. Originally out of Oklahoma an elderly gentleman paid a shop to do the V8 swap. He had painted it himself and had the interior reupholstered sometime in the 90's. A friend of mine had bought the car two years ago and had done a few odd's and ends to it but for the most part it sat. I purchased it about a year and a half ago with the intention of doing some racing with it. However, after stripping the paint off I found a very rust free car that needs the passenger quarter panel replaced (which I have) and did not want to butcher it...then it sat in my garage.
Engine/Transmission: 289/C4 automatic
After getting the car I pulled the engine/tranny. The engine block is a 1965 289 board 30 over with 80's 302 heads and the crank has been turned 20/20. I was planning on running an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake that was picked up at a swap meet, but after two tries and four oil changes I could not get that dang thing to seal up and it leaked water into the valley. I'm including it in the sale but you will have to have a machine shop check it out before it's usable. I put the factory two barrel on it with an Autolite carb. Fires right up and idles. I have not driven it any farther than around the block.
The transmission cooler in the radiator was leaking (I guess no one noticed) and so the transmission had coolant in it, because of this I had the transmission rebuilt and had to install an external transmission cooler.
Suspension:
Up front some of the old six cylinder stuff has been swapped for heavier V8 parts. A-arms and bushings are new. The rear end is an 8 inch out of a mustang. It has five lugs at all four corners. Rear leaf spring bushings are new. The falcon has two inch blocks in the back and had a coil cut out of the front. It needs shocks to match the drop in the front. I have not driven it but just around the block. I think the suspension still needs sorted out because the shop that originally did the V8 swap mixed and matched some parts. It just needs finished up.
Interior:
The seats are in really nice shape. No rips or tears. Door panels are not pictured but are done up to match the seats. All trim was taken out and labeled for easy installation. The dash is original and in mint condition. No warps, no cracks, very flexible and clean!
Body:
Like I said earlier, it has ZERO rust other than some light surface. Floor pans are perfect. The only bad place on the whole car is the passenger quarter panel and like I said I have a replacement quarter panel for it. The front and back glass seals are new, as well.
Over all it is a great starting point.
It also comes with:
New door seals and window felts: in boxesCar coverFour freshly painted/matching steel wheelsComplete set of stainless steel.Extra interior window cranks etc.Lots of misc. parts
