1959 FORD FAIRLANE 500 SKYLINER RETRACTABLE HARDTOP

This beautiful classic car needs little to become a daily driver, show winner, investment, etc.

The good,

1. Overall condition is amazing for a 58 year old automobile.

2. The exterior is extremely clean. I took pictures of both sides and I couldn't see any imperfections (let me know if you see any.) It looks like the plastic on blinker cover on the rear driver-side is missing. Chrome looks amazing. The Red is faded, but the white still has a nice shine. The wheel covers and fender covers are in the trunk.

3. The interior looks nice. The headliner is falling down in the back, but still looks good and just needs to be re-attached. The front seat leather looks like it's split and needs to be re-sowed. The carpet on the driver side looks like it needs to be re-attached by the door frame.

4. The factory air has been switched over to the updated 134 and needs to be refilled since the car has been sitting for 5 years.

5. The motor and transmission are solid. Just had the mechanic check the car out from front to back. No leaks ( got some pictures with the car on the lift.) If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

6. Since the car has spent the majority of it's life in the South West desert climate the metal is nice and clean. Didn't find any substantial rust on it anywhere. The rubber suspension parts need to be changed.

7. The brakes are good.

8. The steering is good.

9. Headlights work good.

The Bad,

1. The top isn't retracting. You can hear some clicking (signs of life,) but apparently the contacts are oxidized after sitting for years. The top did retract before it was parked. Since the top isn't retracting I can't show you the hubcaps or fender covers that are stored in the trunk.

2. Little things like getting the top going again, and refilling the AC. Parts are still available and reasonable since the is a Galaxy 500, so don't be afraid of the work.

On Apr-12-17 at 11:43:52 PDT, seller added the following information:

The passenger side main window has a small crack in the upper corner by the wind wing. It's hard to see in the picture. The windows all go up and down with no issues.
The engine doesn't smoke at all.
The car antenna is in the trunk, and just needs to be screwed on.
I'll answer questions as they come in that aren't in the initial listing
