1980 Ford Other Additional Info:

A 1980 Ford Pinto Pinchero conversion. 2.3L 4-cylinder engine with an automatic transmission and air conditioning. The paint is beginning to crackle in spots, but the body appears to be solid. There is a functioning fuel cell in the bed, which was installed by a prior owner. The gas tank beneath the car was removed, though one should be able to be re-installed thus making the entire bed of the "truck" usable. The interior is red, with low-back bucket seats, the rear seats were apparently removed during the conversion, one is installed, the other is gone. The carpet in the front passenger section is red, but in the rear where the seats would be it is black. There is paint on the door seals, indicative of a low budget paint job with poor taping off prior to painting. I bought the car in spring, put it into storage, and have not driven it other than to the BMV for an out of state inspection, which was passed. The car runs fine, the brakes feel a little soft to me. From an outside point of view, the car will need a new interior and a paint job, a muffler, and would probably benefit from a tune-up, as well as some minor tweaks on things like mirrors and the rails installed on the bed. But it is one unusual and very rare little car. The story I was told was that the car was converted by a gentleman in Goldsboro, NC, who advertised and sold conversion kits for Pinchero's in Popular Mechanics. I have seen a copy of the ad before, but do not have one. I do not know that this was the person who did the conversion. I have a clear Ohio title on the vehicle. Cash only.
