1970 Ford Mustang Additional Info:

You are looking at a Super Solid1970 Ford Mustang Sportsroof (fastback) optioned with an Automatic Transmission, Power Brakes, and Factory Air Conditioning. This carwhile needinga full restorationisaSolidSouthern Carandwould make for a very straight forwardrestoration. It is well optioned and has a GREAT color combination!!

This is an ORIGINAL F-code 1970 Ford Mustang Fastback thatspent it's early life in the Northwestern, Louisiana area hailing from the City ofShreveport, Louisiana originally. This car stayed in the south and at some point found it's way to the Atlanta, Ga Area. This carhad been adriver for a number of years before beingput away and a restoration started on it.TheMustang ended up in the hands of a well intentionedenthusiast who ended up with more projects thanhe had time or space for. After getting started on the restoration by partially disassembling this car;the reality of things set in; andit was decided that it would be best to bolt it back togetherand sell offthe Mustang to focus on his other projects/priorities. Thiscar is justwaiting forthe nextMustangenthusiast to come along and finish restoring this car to its former glory!!

This car was aStock Order at Wray Ford Co. in Shreveport, LA. It was ordered in theNewOrleans64 DSO inthevisually stunning and very desirable (like theBoss 302's)D-code Grabber Yellow Hue withamatching Black Vinyl Bucket Seat Interior.

ThisFastback was furtherspec'd outwith an F-code 302-2V,C4 Automatic Transmission, and a 3.00 geared conventional rear end!

This '70 Mustang Sportsroofper the Deluxe Marti Report was originally ordered as follows:
302-2V V-8 Engine C4Automatic Transmission3.00 GearedConventional RearGrabber Yellow Exterior PaintBlack VinylBucket Seat InteriorE70-14 Wide Oval Belted White Sidewall TiresRocker Panel MoldingsPower SteeringPower Disc BrakesAir ConditioningAMRadioTinted GlassWheel Covers
This car is a project carthat has been sitting fora number of years.Over the years a few changes have been made and somewhere along the way theMustang's originalpowerplantwas upgraded to a more powerful351C-2V engine. This was out of another project car that was too rusty to restore. Theengine was rebuilt and has low mileage since being built. The 351 in the Mustang has a set of NEW Hooker Headers on it and an Edelbrock Aluminum Intake Manifold for it. TheTransmission is supposed tobe a good working unit as well but the car is not running at the moment so I have no way of testing it. The brakes are not functional at this time and will need to be gone through. This is not a driver by any means, butit is a solid project car that could be made to run with a couple weekends worth of work.
Thecar hadbeen repaintedover the original Grabber Yellow paint and color changed tosome shade of Red before being primered. The body while extremely solid has had some bumps and bruises over the years. At some point the passenger 1/4 was hit and some back woods body guy decided just to throw mud at it rather than hammer and dollying it out. It is avery solid panel with only a small quarter size bit of rust on the lower rear most likely from a clogged drain. The panel justneedsa bitof massagingto get it back into shape. Driver 1/4 is very decent but also has a small quarter size bit of rust near where the drain is.This car is avery easy fix for a good body guy.The Battery apron is nice in the car, though it does need a tray. All of the seams on the engine bay aprons are nice andunblistered. This car showssome wear and tear from its years of road duty; but reallyis not a terrible car to work with. With that said a complete cosmetic resto would be in order.Car really needs to be stripped, straightened, and repainted back to it's original Grabber Yellowcolor again!!
The Body on theMustang whilenowhere near perfect, norpaint ready is a reasonably good platform from which to start with. The Hood,Fenders, and 1/4's are all Super Solid Pieces to work with. The doors and the decklid while needing some attention aregood workable pieces.
The Floors have been done and theTorque Boxes, Frame Rails, Rockers, TrunkFloors, Drops, Cowl, etc. are super solidon this car.
There are manyNEW parts included with this car to be used in its restoration. Here is a partial list of the NEW items that come with this car as part of the auction.
NEW FUEL TANKNEW FUEL TANK SENDING UNITNEW DOOR GLASSNEW REAR WINDOW MOLDINGSNEW DOOR HANDLESNEW REAR DECK SPOILERNEW BATTERY TRAYNEW FRONT SEAT UPHOLSTERY
Undoubtedly you will need someparts and pieces for this car as yourestore it, but it is a prettycomplete car that is well optioned and asuper solid platform to start with!!
This car would make a GREAT Boss 302 Tribute car back in it's Original Grabber Yellow color scheme. I will attach a couple of pics of a Boss 302 in Grabber Yellow for reference and I think you will see just what a sexy car this could be!!
TheBlack Bucket Seat Interior ispretty much complete; but needing restoration. It does show it's age; butmost all of the pieces seem to be good serviceable/restorable pieces.
The carwas originally equipped with 14 inchSteel wheels which I have for it,It isshown with an original set of Ford 15x7 Magnum 500 Wheels; that are for photographic purposes only and NOT included with this auction. This car will be delivered with the original 14 inchSteel Wheels with trim rings and capsback on it.
I do have another set of Magnum 500 wheels and tiresfor the car available at extra cost should the winning bidder decide that they want Magnums on the car.
I also have a RARE and Complete Shaker HoodAssembly available for the car at additional costthat I will make available to the winning bidder ifinterested. Iwill add a picture of the car with the Shaker hood on it; but again it isNOT included as part of the auction.

Please be realistic in your expectations of this car as anearly 50year old project car that has been around the block and knocked around a bit needing complete restoration to include body work, mechanical work, and cosmetic reconditioning.
Overall this is a very decent 1970 Mustang Fastback thatis a solid restoration candidate. There are lots of picked over, rusted out carcasses out there; but decent do-able cars such as this that are not rusted to death don't come along very often. This car is registered and insured in my name and is ready for transfer. If you have been looking for a SolidMustang Fastback to restore then don't hesitate on this one; as is it may be some time before anothersolid resto projectsuch as this comes along again!
