1980 Ford Fusion Additional Info:

Wood Bros Pit Stop practice car.

This car was originally prepared by the Wood Bros. & driven by Elliot Sadler. It has a RHE(Ronnie Hopkins) chassis. The car was rebodied with a 1st gen COT body & used by the team for pit stop practice. It has a GM crate engine & TH350 trans. I believe that it is the 290hp/350ci model. The vehicle runs & drives perfectly. At some point the car was somewhat updated to some of the 2nd gen COT dimensions. The car has some modifications to facilitate longevity such as reinforced fender wells.

As would be expected from a professional race team, the car was well maintained & is in excellent condition. The chassis has not been modified & could be easily certified for SCCA & NASA road racing competition for example. Although it has a offset chassis intended for circle track applications, the ft suspension has been changed to facilitate road racing. While working at Shaver motorsports in Charlotte, NC, we campaigned a identical chassis with excellent results. The car can be easily updated with a straight up clip at the customers request & expense. The drivetrain can also be easily updated for competition use at the buyers expense.

The car would also be great for a variety of promotional purposes.

I have considered adding a second seat & safety items to make the car street legal. I have not researched the NCDMV process to do this, but know others have modified similar cars in this way. Since this was built as a race car it does not have a VIN or associated title.

I can provide additional technical information & photographs, I do not have time to check email daily, so please be patient with me. Appointments to view the vehicle, located in Charlotte, NC can be arranged.

The car is sold as-is/where-is without any warranties expressed or implied. The seller would provide a bill of sale. The seller has the vehicle listed locally & reserves the right to end the auction at any time. Terms of sale are Cash or Paypal, buyer responsible for all fees on both ends.

A non-refundable $500 deposit is required with in 48 hours of auction end. Vehicle must be picked up within 7 days of auction end, or it will incur storage fees that the buyer would be responsible for. I will be happy to assist buyer with shipping.

the year of the car was listed as 1980 to allow the posting without a VIN. I do not as of yet have the original build sheet, but it is my understanding that the car was originally built & raced after 2000.
