1949 FORD F100 TRUCK
You are bidding on a RARE 1949 FORD F1
I'm selling this for a friend. It has been in his family for over 40 years. He hates to part with it but he just doesn't drive it much any more and wants someone else to enjoy it. I was just out for a ride today with him in it. The truck is very reliable and always starts right up. Motor runs good, does not smoke and sounds as it should. It is not a show truck but has won a trophy in a local car show. The body and paint is roughly 10 years old and does show a few imperfections in the paint but otherwise very nice fit and finish. It has been garaged since paint was done. I have pictured the few flaws...a little bubbling at bottom front of passenger door, a couple scratches on the left front fender, and some webbing on inside of tailgate. The truck has a '70's 302 Ford motor while retaining the original 3 speed manual transmission and original rear. The motor has a new 2 bl. carb. with dual exhaust. I believe the mufflers are turbo mufflers and have a nice low growl but not obnoxious. It has fiberglass fenders and running boards. Everything else is steel including a new steel bed and new steel tailgate. All new oak and stainless bed floor. All body and bed bolts were replaced with stainless hardware. $450. spent just in hardware. It also has new stainless bumpers while retaining the original stainless grille. All new window glass and some tracks were installed during the body resto. My friend bought the truck from his father-in-law about 15 years ago for a purchase price of $3500. and spent another $16,000 on the body resto and some mechanical repairs/upgrades. Frame is solid with no repairs. Speedometer works and there is aftermarket gauges for oil and temp. Fuel gauge does not work. Vehicle is registered as an antique and displays antique plates. What the truck could really use is a nice detailing of the engine compartment, new battery terminals (they don't tighten up any more) and a new headliner. The headliner was replaced but some mice got into it last winter and ruined it. The seat has been reupholstered and there is a new rubber floor mat. This truck is a beautiful driver and gets lots of attention wherever it goes. It does ride and steer like a 1949 truck as it retains all the original suspension and steering parts. No power steering.I will try to answer any questions but it may take a little time to get back to you. He is old school...no cell phone or computer so I have to get hold of him on his home phone when he's there.
Thank you and good luck bidding!
