1966 Ford F-100 Custom Cab Additional Info:

1966 Mercury M100 Custom Cab V8 Truck, very rare truck that runs and drives. Complete with all specific Mercury emblems and tailgate. Selling with No Reserve to the highest bidder. Can help to arrange to ship anywhere for buyer.
This Mercury M100 is in good original un-restored condition. It runs and drives well other than a very soft brake pedal so the brakes will need attention. The 352 FE V8 starts and runs very well and sounds very smooth. The previous owner claimed it was rebuilt about 20,000 miles ago which I have found no reasons to doubt. The 3 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly and the clutch is very easy to use with no slip and a precise biting point. The battery is new. All this truck would need to be put into daily use is some brake work.
There is some rust as is to be expected with a truck that has spent the majority of its life up in Canada. But it is not that bad and mostly isolated to the front fenders as can be seen in the photos. There is also a very little amount of rust in the cab corners and drivers side floor board. The cab mounts are surprisingly good as is the radiator support panel. The tailgate is very solid but does have a dent on the top edge. The truck was originally red and black but unfortunately has been painted yellow and white at sometime in the past. Overall a good straight truck though with the all important Mercury emblems and tailgate present.
The interior is all original and still in original colors. The seat still has original factory upholstery but the base is worn. Being the Custom Cab it has the padded dash which has a few cracks but not bad. It also has the Custom Cab gauge cluster and zipper door pocket. The red door panels are original and not reproductions and are in excellent shape which is very rare to see. The interior is clean and tidy and the original floor covering is also in good condition.
Mercury trucks are very rare due to only being sold in rural Canadian towns between 1946 and 1968, so are very unusual to see in the US. This particular example came from Saskatchewan, Canada which is a western province with a fairly dry climate so it has survived well. We have specialized in importing these Mercury trucks into the US and have successfully found new homes in the US for 38 Mercury trucks over the past 2 years. This is the first one we have offered on Ebay. So if there is a particular model year you are looking for please contact us as we currently have 8 Mercury trucks in stock and get more most weeks.
