1990 Ford Mustang GT Hatchback 2-Door Additional Info:

For sale is a 1990 Mustang GT 5.0 with a 5-speed manual transmission. The color is wild strawberry over titanium frost with gray interior that is in excellent condition. The car has been very nicely restored, and was originally a white car with gray interior. I've owned it for 7 months and purchased from the previous owner that performed the restoration. I've put 20K miles on it since, I've had it and you can drive it anywhere with cold A/C. I had recently driven to the upper peninsula of Michigan and back to SC without an issue. The car feels very tight and runs and drives great! The new clutch feels great, and the transmission shifts smoothly. The car has great power and handles well. The car shows just over 25,000 miles and I believe it's been around twice - but that should be somewhat irrelevant since the car was restored. This is a very clean '90 GT.
The following are details on the car and are new within the last 20K miles:
  • New gas tank
  • All weatherstripping is new
  • New map pockets
  • New steering rack
  • 3.73 gears installed and the differential was rebuilt by Edwards Ford - 2 year warranty and I have the receipt for over $1000
  • Brand new clutch,, clutch kit, and cable installed by Edwards Ford - Only 2K miles on the clutch and I have the receipt for $1100
  • New front windshield
  • Transmission rebuilt by previous owner
  • New thermostat, MAF, TPS, EGR, O2 sensors
  • BBK offroad H-pipe
  • Dynomax mufflers
  • R12 A/C was converted over to R134A - System flushed, new compressor, accumulator, and low pressure switch was replaced
  • New gas struts for the hatch
  • Car was painted with Chromabase/Chromaclear - Not a perfect or show quality paint job, but the car presents very nicely
  • All black trim pieces were painted in the correct flat black
  • New gauge cluster lens
  • Hurst shift handle
  • New door lock actuator in the drivers side - both sides work
  • All new suspension components installed by previous owner
  • Front end aligned
  • Tires have about 20K miles on them
  • Top end of engine rebuilt by previous owner - i.e. valve job

The following are items that do not work or could use attention:

  • Cruise control has not worked since I've owned the car
  • Leaks a drop or two of oil when sitting - I'm not sure from where
  • Power windows work well, but a guide in the driver's side door could be adjusted slightly - it wobbles a bit as it goes up
  • Driveshaft has a slight vibration above 80 mph - It appears to be original and could be re-balanced or replaced with an aluminum driveshaft
