1979 Ford F-150 Explorer Additional Info:

1979 Ford F-150 Short Bed, Explorer package. 460cu, C6 auto transmission, 3:50 posi 9" rear, fact A/C (blows cold), PS, PB, tilt wheel, fact Ford sport steering wheel, recalibrated 160mph speedo, 54k original miles on truck, drivetrain has less than 8k miles. Newer fact Ford alloy wheels, Hooker headers with custom dual exhaust. Sold new in Tucson, AZ and has always been in the state. Absolutely ZERO rust or damage. Interior is all original and in great shape...no cracks in the dash. Always adult owned and maintained.
Drivetrain was professionally built, engine has appx. 500hp. Holley carb, Edelbrock intake, Hooker headers, Comp Cam, heads and intake were match ported, balanced, etc. It runs VERYstrong and sounds (mean) great!C6 transmission was built to handle the additional horsepower and it shifts firm. Shift points are set-up to act in conjunction with the stall converter. Rear differential (9") was rebuilt with a posi unit and 3:50 ratio. All components work together very well. It's a blast to drive and it's very strong. If you're having a bad day, taking it for a spin is theperfectremedy.: )
Body is in excellent shape and has been repainted (older paint job) the original color. Never any wrecks or body damage and very straight. No rust of any kind, bed and tailgate are also clean. All of the trim and bumpers are nice and straight. It has never been used as a work truck and has always been cared for.
Interior is the original plaid pattern seat and blue trim...it has not been recovered . No rips or stains, it's still in very good shape. The dash pad is not cracked and all of the gauges work. It has a mid-90s fact Ford AM/FM/CD stereo installed and it works fine. But, the best music comes from thesound of the engine.
Unfortunately, I'm selling it to purchase a home and I won't have the space to keep it stored indoors. Otherwise I would try to keep it. Feel free to call with any questions. I've set the reserve for a little under what I paid for it earlier this year. I think it's a reasonable price for what the truck is and what it would cost to build one like it.
