1965 Ford F-100 Custom Cab Additional Info:

Glancing through our inventory, you'll find one very obvious fact: pickup trucks are the fastest growing segment of the old car hobby. Trucks like this 1965 Ford F-100 represent tremendous value and typically offer big horsepower and great vintage looks, all for a fraction of the price of their passenger car counterparts. And you could certainly do worse than this pretty two-tone pickup. The Ford's unique look is one part blue collar worker and one part first-class transportation, and it makes for the ideal foundation for the green and white combination. The bodywork seems to invite the two-color paint job, with a natural break point below the hood, and a contrasting cab roof has been a pickup tradition for years. The only major modification during the build was the removal of the stainless side trim, but the clean body lines support it and subtlety is something that we always appreciate around here. The doors fit well and the silver grille and painted rear bumper give it a classic "down on the farm" look that's a big part of old trucks' appeal. Original emblems were retained, there's a light tint to the glass, and the bed has handy tie-down rails and diamond-plate tool box so it remains eminently functional as a truck. The interior sticks to tradition, offering a full-width bench seat, now covered in attractive black vinyl and cloth that looks period-correct. Basic door panels with body-colored inserts add an upscale look and the original instruments are housed in an engine-turned panel that really dresses things up in a big way. If you have sharp eyes, you'll quickly spot the white cue ball shifter knob has five forward gears, not three or four, and that 5-speed transmission totally transforms the truck's road manners. The steering wheel is a throwback to the space-age 1950s and the original AM radio is still in the dash. Black rubber floor mats remind us that despite the creature comforts, this is still a truck that's ready, willing, and able to work.Trucks are gaining popularity because they often include big block power, and that's certainly the case with this Ford. A 352 cubic inch V8 fits neatly under the hood and has been upgraded with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and matching intake manifold, along with matching valve covers and an open-element air cleaner. Power steering and brakes are welcome in anything that weighs this much and with discs up front, it offers better-than-average stopping power to match its performance. That 5-speed manual transmission channels the power aft to the original 9-inch rear end, and it barks through a great-sounding Flowmaster single exhaust system that sounds just about right going down the road. It's got a lot of punch around town, but never gives up its stock look. That's especially apparent in the rolling stock, which consists of original steel wheels with "dog dish" hubcaps and trim rings, all wrapped in 235/75/15 whitewall radials. Nicely built and cleverly upgraded, this is a fun, affordable truck with the moves of a muscle car. Call today!
