1973 Ford F-100 Explorer Custom Additional Info:

This is a 1973 Ford F100 with 38k original miles. This Explorer Custom model in factory code "Lime Green" is a limited edition color way that was only available in the spring of 73. It also has the limited edition option of the matching interior. Both the paint and the interior are original and considering they are 43 years old they present very well. The paint is not perfect; it has small chips here and there but the color is fantastic and it's what sold me on it. I'vedone extensive research on the internet and althoughyou will see the the other burnt orange limited color way from time to timeI've only seen one other like this over the years, it justwasn't very popular at the time. I've owned this truck for three years. I bought it from a dry dessert climate from a farmerwho's wife used itoccasionally for towing her horses. It has a fifthwheel hitch installed as well as a customextendable rearbumper with all lighting hook-ups. The truck sat for nearly 20years in storage and the previous owner decided to start to bring it back to life. They started by replacing the motor. I'm not exactly sure why but they thought it would be a good idea. This was done at roughly the 9k mile mark so it has roughly 29k miles on it. Over the years the previous owner and myself have had lots of work and i have 12k in receipts including but not limited to the following-

--Front axle bearings $216

--New battery $96

--Wheels and tires $1218 (less than 200 miles on them)

--Brake drums, shoes, seals, bearings, and cylinders $872 (done this month)

-- master cylinder and rebuilt booster $131 (done this month)

--aftermarket muffler and tail pipe $319

--shocks $85

--bed caps $90

--engine install $3562 @ 9185 miles

--new belts $168 (this year)

--rebuilt carburetor $644 (this year)

--alternator and starter $513 (this year)

--misc including axles, brake upgrade, u-joints,shocks, $3714

--new distributor $200 (this year)

--new timing chain $520 (last year)

The undercarriage is nearly rust free. There is some surface rust in the bed but nothing serious. The bed is far from perfect, as this truck has been used on a farm in it's youth. The inside passenger door handle needs to be replaced I just haven't got to it and the door panels could use new clips. The fan motor for the heater doesn't work and I haven't replaced it because i just don't drive it in the cold. The steering column is loose. This truck was not optioned with power steering and I had the intention of upgrading it but it just wasn't the priority for me. It can be done for $500 in parts and $500 in labor I've been told. It has an aftermarket stereo in it that the previous owner installed but i have the original. There are no speakers in it, I never out any in because I'd rather listen to the 390. I also have two sets of shop manuals included with the sale.

In conclusion, this is a great truck that shows very well from ten feet. It's meant to be driven and enjoyed. This is my pride and joy and I hope it finds a loving home. Please ask any questions as i have nothing to hide and thanks for looking!
