1981 Fiat 2000 Spider

Great car, I've taken it a long way on the path to restoration but I just don't have the time for it anymore.

I am doing my best to list all upgrades, repairs, and mods as I can recall them. This is an “as-is” sale. Much has been accomplished but there is plenty more fun to be had by a good shade tree mechanic.

Does not smoke and has no leaks, engine is solid. This car needs someone who can properly dial in these carburetors to get the best performance out of this car. A video of the running engine dated 8/22/16 can be found here (Flash Player Only, may not be available to view on smartphones):

Modified from fuel injection to dual Weber 40 IDF carburetors.

  • Computronix "distributorless" ignition system.
  • Newly rebuilt transmission
  • New head gasket
  • New fuel tank
  • New U-joints
  • Starter replaced
  • Rear brakes replaced
  • New floor pan passenger side and remainder restored down to metal.
  • New carpets
  • Original Cromodora Rims
  • Interior unmodified
  • Convertible top in great condition
  • New door panels
  • Many other parts replaced or restored
  • Extensive service history available
  • Shop manual and many other "extra parts n' stuff"
  • Clear title - Georgia is a "no title" state for vehicles earlier than 1985. It is presently registered indicating it's title status and I will provide the appropriate Bill of Sale or other documentation required for your state. (from Georgia DOR website......"nor can a title be issued when a vehicle that is not required to be titled in Georgia (1985 or older year models).
There is a small dent at the passenger headlight area (see pic)Paint has some oxidization and some small touch ups.
Very little evidence of rust, just a few bubbles at the lower side of the rocker panels.
Upholstery is intact but original with visible age.
There is an intermittent bug in the ignition switch. Sometimes requires patience but usually starts right up away. May need replacing eventually.
Any extra parts I have will be included in the purchase if you want them.I have an extensive list of repairs and mods made my myself and the previous owner. This will be included with the shop manual on purchase.
Overall, this is still a project car for a weekend mechanic to enjoy. It has solid bones but there are still some bugs to iron out for top notch performance.
