Im a bit of a Fiat fanatic, and currently have four others in addition to this one which I just picked up. I really need to thin out my heard! Feel free to ask me any Fiat related questions you may have. I also have many extra parts available in addition to whats for sale in this lot.

History:

This 1966 1500 Cabriolet and two 124 Spiders belonged to the estate of an avid collector who likely owned hundreds of cars in his lifetime. At the time of his death, I believe he had 38. This 1500 was stored in a carport that had been boarded up all around and looked like it hadnt been touched in a decades! I even found two pieces of unopened mail dated Jan 1980 in the car! This car was stored in the“Avenues” neighborhood, a upscale residential area overlooking Sale Lake City.

Title paperwork trail (copies of old titles and the like), Bill of Sale, and other misc papers are all included! I can easily get a new title issued in my name if needed, for an additional cost, or you can just get the title issued in your name when you go to register the car in your own state. Ive done it this way many times before and its really simple.

It appears that theprevious owner, Robert S. hadbegun the rebuild process and got sidetracked by one of his many other projects… Included is the (likely) original engine block (crankshaft is broken), head, starter, alternator, distributor, 4 original hubcaps, FIAMM horn air pump (tested and works great), flywheel, clutch disc, pressure plate, convertible top frame (in excellent condition), spare wheel, and other misc parts. Most of the parts were in a garage workshop next to where the car was found, also covered in decades of dust. Also included but not pictured is the plenum duct that would be located under the hood on the passenger side of theengine bay.

*UPDATE: I just found the cover for the transmission tunnel which also includes the rubber shifter boot. It’s in good condition and is included with the sale of the car. AND I found the four stainlessbeauty ringswheel trim rings. I’ll try to update the listing with photos!

This car looks to be almost totally complete. Bumpers, grill, badges and almost all of the trim. One piece of trim on the passenger side front quarter panel is missing (if I get the opportunity to look through the garage where the car was found again, and locate the trim or any more parts for this 1500, I can pass them along to the new owner). Transmission is missing, as is the intake. I may have thecarburetor, but I didn’t see it when I was putting these photos together, so I’ll look again. If I find it, it goes along with the car.

I was planning on putting this car back together and I would have used a later twin cam motor and transmission from a 124 in the rebuild. It would be relativelyeasy to adapt into this engine bay. This would be a good step up in horsepower as well. There is a small hole in the passenger side floor boards, but in a really easy location to patch. Even anamateur welder should have no trouble with a repair like that. Overall the car is quite solid, with some other typical small rust spots around wheel arches. Check it for yourself in the photos, and if you want a better look at something, contact me and I’ll take close-ups, or we could even arrange aSkype video call and I’d be happy to show you the car live.

Some years ago I rescued a 1958 1200TV which was in MUCH MUCH worse shape, sold it to someone over in Italy and here’s what it looks like now, restored:LINK TO 1958 FIAT 1200TV PHOTOS ON DROPBOX

I spent a little time cleaning up the car and parts for photos, and Id proudly say that its in overall great shapefor a car that marks it’s 50’th birthday this year! There are few barn find 1500’s like this.
