1992 Ferrari Testarossa Additional Info:

This 1992 Ferrari 512TR is a 37k-mile example which benefits from a documented engine-out service within the last 100 miles, which included a new timing belt, valve adjustment, and fresh fluids. The car has resided in California since 2001, and previously resided in Texas, Florida, and Colorado. Since 2014 the car has been part of a private collection, but has been used regularly in that time. This 512TR is sold with fitted luggage, a clean Carfax, and a clean California title.
The 512TR’s bodywork was updated from the preceding Testarossa including redesigned front and rear bumpers and valences, a revised engine cover, and new 18″ wheels measuring 8″ wide at the front and 10.5″ at the rear. The front bumper on this example has been repainted to correct for stone chips. The passenger side fender was repainted earlier in its life and matches perfectly.
In addition to the cosmetic changes, several alterations were made to the car’s overall layout, including repositioning of the engine and transaxle for improved balance. The shift linkage was also revised for smoother shifting.
In addition to the exterior changes, the 512TR cabin was updated as well. The dash is less angular than the preceding Testarossa, and the control layout was simplified. The leather throughout the rest of the cabin remains taut and clean. A small wear spot is noted on the emergency brake boot. All interior features are said to work correctly, and the buttons and switchgear retain bright labels. The matching fitted luggage is included.
Power comes from an updated version of Ferrari’s flat-twelve engine, displacing 4.9L with 48-valves and featuring new Nikasil cylinder liners. Other improvements over earlier versions of the powerplant include larger valves, a revised exhaust, and new air intakes, bringing power to 428 horsepower in the 512TR, a 37 hp bump over the Testarossa. A major engine-out service was performed within the last 100 miles. The car has passed California smog testing every time since it came to the state, and the car will be smogged prior to delivery if the buyer is in California.
The invoice for the timing belt and valve adjustment service is attached in the gallery. The fuel filters, spark plugs, valve cover gaskets and air filters were also changed. An oil change, coolant flush, brake fluid flush, and transmission fluid change were also performed at this time.
There is some scuffing on the forward undertray, which is shown in the gallery. Numerous photos of the underside are provided in the gallery.
The Carfax is attached, and documents the car’s history in Florida, Texas, and Colorado before coming to California in 2001.
My standard disclaimer/mantra for any car regardless of service or price: The car is sold with no warranty. You are buying a used car. Eventually every car will break, if you find one that doesn't please let me know. I do my ABSOLUTE BEST to describe accurately the shape of the truck, but keep in mind it is impossible to discuss every detail of a car for better or worse. I am not a dealer, just a guy who loves Ferrari (among other cars) and hope to pass along my passion and fervor for these cars. That said if ever you encounter an issue I do my best to provide advice, direction or even parts if I have them. Please understand that it is a used car and will have minor signs of use despite its service and restoration. That means please do not expect a showroom brand new car. Please adjust your expectation level to that of a 37,000 mile car that however is EXTREMELY good condition. This is good miles for Ferrari of this year, but please just remember that no 37,000 mile car is perfect. It is though a clean, very nice Ferrari! Please only bid if you intend to buy. If you would like to have an Ebay 3rd party mechanic service check out the car I MORE than welcome it. Please have the car checked out before bidding and not after, if you intend to use that service. And please, if you would like to utilize this service, contact me with more than a couple days left in the auction so we can arrange schedules. Please check your local laws and registration procedures before buying. Buying over the internet can be scary sometimes! I get it, because I am an enthusiast too!! For that very reason, I am more than happy to answer every and any question you may so you know 100% what you are buying. But, please ask any and all questions ahead of purchase! It is impossible to list every pro and con of a car, I am not an inspection service, it is your responsibility as a buyer to do your due diligence and inspect the car. All sales are final, you are buying as-is, the sky is blue, etc, etc. Sorry to have to give the boring speech!
