1992 Dodge Other Pickups D250 Additional Info:
Beautiful 1992 Gen 1 Ram in great condition. This truck has a 12 valve inline 6 cummins diesel with a 5 speed manual transmission. This truck runs & drives excellent with zero know mechanical issues. I have just had it into the dealership for an oil change. While it was there I asked them to go through the entire truck to check it all over and make recommendations. Upon their inspection they recommended valve cover gaskets, fuel pump and speed sensor, and all repairs were authorized and completed. Other than those items, they commented on clean & pristine the truck was. No other items were needed. I have also completely had the front end redone in August. It was time for new brakes and while it was in I wanted to tackle everything else while it was in the shop. It has new upper & lower tie rods, new front coil springs and central arms. Has new rotors and brakes on front. New shocks on rear. The truck is 100% updated with all recommended repairs and ready to run for another 30 solid years. It runs perfectly and starts easily on 1 turn of the key. Im very meticulous about maintenance. It does not lose or use oil in between oil changes. I run Stanadyne diesel treatment in every single tank of fuel and average about 19 MPG combination average. I have removed the muffler to run a 3" straight pipe all the way back because I like the sound of it. It has a beautiful sound and is not overly noticeable or loud in the cab. The truck had a topper on it most of it's life before me, and the bed is really good condition. It is scratched from hauling but not beat up or dented. The AC, heat, radio, lights etc.. all work perfectly with no issues.
I would drive the truck across the country tomorrow with zero concerns or expectations of any issues. It is really nice and mechanically is excellent. I has lived a very nice life of easy driving and great maintenance. The first two owners were elderly gentlemen. When the first owner was done with it, his retired son took ownership and I purchased it from him.
The paint is in good shape does have a few minor scratches and chips that you can find when you look up close. Overall the paint is really really good. It does have some white road paint on the passenger side rockers that I haven't gotten off. It does not really bother me, buy someone may want to have it cleaned off. It is on the unreturned side of the rocker and nor very visible unless you kneeling down.
I does also have a really small transmission oil leak at the driveshaft. It will drip about a quarter size spot of gear oil when driven for longer distances. I did want to have this fixed when at the dealership, but at their advice I left it alone. They said it was so minor that it was not worth taking it apart for. Basically said this is one of the only ones they have seen that doesn't drip engine oil and larger amounts of trans fluid. So I guess that is a great thing.
I purchased this truck for me, and I absolutely love it. I also have a 95 OBS power stroke that is like new and my daily driver 2020 ram 2500. I am selling this one basically because winter is coming and I don't want my daily driver sitting outside because there is no roof for it. I had intended to give to my 13 year next year for driving to school. Upon further thinking, I don't want to give a truck this unique and rare to learning driver. I would be sick if it were to get beat up or hit in the parking lot etc... I really want it to go to someone who appriciates a 1st ten cummins as much as I do.
There are a few things that could use fixed up, but were so minor they don't bother me at all. The headliner is a little droopy. It is not ripped up or stained but is loose. It would be a very easy fix. The few small scratches and chips on the paint and tailgate could be fixed. Each spot is about the size of a quarter or smaller. I didn't want to just touch it up since touch ups are noticeable. I would have rather painted the entire fended / tailgate. I have not had this done because I did not want to mess with matching paint. Ideally I would also have liked the really small trans fluid leak fixed, but I do agree with the dealership that it isn't worth fixing. Because the transmission is so strong and smooth shifting, I decided to leave it alone.
There than those few items, it perfect to me.
Let me know if you have any questions, and good luck with bidding. I know you won't be disappointed!
