1957 Dodge Coronet Royal Additional Info:

I am listing my 1957 Dodge Royal Hardtop for sale. I have owned this car for at least 15 years and never planned on selling it, but things change. Please examine the photos carefully and see what a beautiful automobile this is! I have restored it as a Royal model with the exact, wild interior fabric which makes the whole car. The car was restored with many NOS pieces which really makes the car look fantastic! It originally was a coronet. The car was just pulled out of the garage for the photos and was not washed or detailed. It was 23 degrees outside! Sorry for my lack of courage! Please note the dealer sticker out of Deadwood SDTHIS CAR IS SELLING AT NO RESERVE!!!
Here is a list of everything that I can think of that I have done to the car.1. Undercarriage; All the suspension was completely rebuilt including ball joints, idler arm, bushings, and the car was updated with front disc brakes. A Challenger 8 3/4 rear axle assembly was installed and all brake lines, shoes and brake cylinders were replaced. A good gas tank was refurbished and installed. Complete new exhaust2. Motor; The engine was completely rebuilt several years ago and a new transmission was installed too. U joints were replaced and radiator and heater core were rebuilt.3. Exterior; There is 1 patch in the floor which is on the drivers side. it can be seen in picture 14. The rockers are original, and the trunk floor was thin, so it got replaced. The inner rockers and inner rear quarters are original. Both outer rear quarters have been partially replaced with a NOS rear quarter installed as needed on the left side. and a patch panel on the right side. The doors and front fenders are still rust free. All repair panels were welded in by a professional body shop. This car started as a solid western car, and all rust was removed when it was painted about 7 years ago. The paint has held up well, but needs a good polish and detail. All the bumpers and grill have been re chromed. The grill medallion is NOS as are both door handles. They look fantastic and really help in the curb appeal of the car. The windshield is also NOS as is a lot of the side trim. All Stainless has been polished, but have gotten a few small dents in them as shown in the photos.4. Interior; SMS provided the seat fabric and made the door panels. It took just over 1 year to get them. They look wonderful. They are the exact fabric and pattern as the original. If you look carefully, you can see that the radio is just sitting in place, but I will bolt it down correctly now that I have found the correct bolts. It has never been hooked up and probably does not work. The new glove box comes with the car but is not installed. All dash chrome is shiny with hardly any pits. I have traveled all over the west to get wonderful pit free pot metal and most pieces are beautiful with the original luster. An exception are the rear antenna bases. They have pitting. Oh, I just noticed that the wipers do not work. I will include a replacement motor and switch. The headliner is complete but sagging. I have found that commercial Velcro works well to hold the panels in place. Steering wheel has no cracks!
This car was a very expensive restoration of a seldom seen car. Most of Chrysler Corporation's 1957 models have rusted beyond hope as my DeSoto wagon has. This car was the exception. Please note the little things like the vent windows and the side window chrome. These are beautiful and almost blemish free. So many have pits completely covering them. Those vent window frames were particularly difficult to find as they were different on the 1958 Dodges Desotos and Chryslers.
The last 2 pictures are older but show the engine and disc brakes clearly. Also the trunk will have extra parts and the last piece of the headliner and metal trim above the rear window.
Now about me. I am getting old and am selling off my several cars. I hope to restore my 1957 DeSoto Explorer wagon now that I have found a rust free body. This car will fund that restoration. I sold my 1965 GTO convertible in May to a very happy buyer in CA. He drove the car home and loves it. You will be very happy with this car. Everything was done with the plans to keep it forever, rather than slapping on a cheap paint job and hoping someone will be succored into buying it. I have described it to the best of my ability. I'm sure that there will be questions, so dont hesitate to ask. The car is sold as is and where is. I just purchased a new carb as the old one was acting up and I wanted to eliminate any carb issues for the new buyer. I have tried to be particular. Payment in full is due within 7 days with a $500 deposit due within 24 hours.
