1953 Dodge Other Pickups Additional Info:

Super charming and 99,99% rust free Arizona truck with beautiful patina.
I think the truck has been repainted many, many years ago. Except for that it is original and unrestored and with the beautiful patina that desert living will bring! The body is in unbelievable good condition, especially considering it is unrestored and 64 years old.
When we bought the Dodge a few years ago it had been sitting unused for years and probably for decades here in Southern Arizona. It started up and ran strong with no problems. We rebuilt the brakes, mounted a new set of radial tires, bought a new battery, gave the truck a lube job and cleaned the fuel tank.
The truck starts, runs and it is driveable as is. Most of the glass is cracked (new glass is very cheap, a complete kit is less than $300).
The speedometer is not working and neither are the turn signals, the truck does have working lights.
The oil pressure is very good, even when idling.
It drives like an old truck, bouncy and noisy but with tons of charm. I think a carburetor rebuild would be a good idea, we start the truck with the choke halfway out and it is very sensitive on the choke.
There is no way of knowing how long it was since the Dodge was driven in traffic, 10 years or 40 years.I have driven it 3-4 times a mile or two each time. The original 6 cylinder flat head engine is still under the hood, the truck still start by stepping on the starting pedal above the gas pedal. The transmission is the original 4 speed with a floor shifter. First is a granny gear so you start in second gear.
The Dodge is driveable but I would not recommend that you'd fly in and drive it home, it is an almost 65 year old vehicle. It is at our restoration shop in down town Phoenix. We welcome inspection and please do that before bidding, not after you are the wining bidder.
We sell and ship worldwide, have done that since 1986.
A $1000 deposit is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction and the balance within 7 days.
The Dodge can stay here for 2-4 weeks if needed as long as it is paid for, longer storage is also available but it would cost $100-$150 per months.
And lastly, PLEEEEESE do not bid unless you are willing and able to pay in case you are the winning bidder.
