1981 DeLorean DMC-12 Additional Info:

Please read all information within this description and the checkout instructions prior to bidding.

-1981 DeLorean DMC-12

-standard transmission

-black interior

-just under 27,000 miles

-VIN 743

-clear title in hand

-registered in Pennsylvania as a classic car, eligible for antique is desired

-I have a folder full of records dating back to 1997 and personally owned vehicle since 2001

-frame and coating is in great shape except for some cracking of the epoxy on the tow hooks (Photos of the undercarriage:https://otbb17846.wixsite.com/outatown/dmc)

-most urgent issue - I took it out for a test run the other day and it looks like the speedometer drive will now need replaced - could be just the cap, but I would purchase the whole kit (K106130)

Actual DeLorean Motor Company numbers are listed as reference - all parts, whether original or aftermarket, can be purchased from a variety of vendors, who have been very helpful throughout my years of ownership.

The car is fully operational, however, replacing the following items would be suggested (I have learned to live with these issues since I didn’t drive it often):

-trip reset switch (spacer knob 105855, nut 105866, knob reset 105865, trip reset shaft 105863)
-window switch kit (pair) K101177
-solenoid door lock LH (need 2) 100861
-door lock control unit - digital 101421
-outer door seal, rear (need 2) 111128
-outer door seal, front (need 2) 111126
-shift boot/metal bracket 100688

I will be including new belts and pulleys for the A/C (see photo). A/C belt broke so I purchased all of the recommended replacement items along with a new drive belt.

Overall, the car itself is in great shape. It wasn’t driven much by the previous owner, so I had a lot of maintenance work done by Bauerle Automotive in Ohio to ensure its dependability (all receipts included). I also have a box of DeLorean World magazines and other miscellaneous items purchased over the years to send with the car.

Most importantly, I have complete confidence in this vehicle, so if any operational/mechanical issues (not previously mentioned) show up within 45 days after auction ends, I will reimburse you for any parts and/or repairs up to $1,000.00. The only thing I would request is a copy of the invoice(s).

PLEASE NOTE...

This auction is for a STOCK DeLorean only - it will be returned to it's original state meaning ALL of the time machine related components will be removed - those specific items in addition to everything shown on this site:https://otbb17846.wixsite.com/outatown/bttfwill be made available to the winning bidder first.
