1972 Datsun Z-Series 240Z Additional Info:

1972 Datsun 240Z "BARN FIND"
Offering a numbers matching, complete "Barn Find" S30 Datsun 240Z. Found in a southern Maryland barn after spending the past 25+ years in storage.
The car is a numbers matching L2.4 liter inline 6cyl mated to a 4 speed manual transmission. The original spare tire, jack, jack pouch and cardboard spare tire cover are remarkably still with the car. The original owners manual, vehicle identification and delivery acknowledgement invoice AND original owners warranty pamphlet and card were found in the glove box.
The VIN (HLS30 59835) and engine ser # L24 076653 match both the Strut VIN plate and the original warranty card. The car was purchased new at Ken Keegan Imports in Los Gatos, California in May of 1972. It was originally color code 112 (Lime Yellow), which can still be seen under the original spare tire wheel well.
All doors, rockers, and frame appear to be in remarkably solid shape. There is a softball size hole on the passengers side floorboard and right rear quarter panel (noted in the pictures). The driver's side floorboard, battery box, engine bay, struts, rear hatch and trunk all look reasonably solid. A fair amount of the exterior body is covered in a very fine layer of surface rust. The four original wheels were replaced at some point with 14x7 Appliance mesh mag wheels, a popular period modification. Due to the front drivers side tire being rotted, the spare tire is currently mounted - that sides mag wheel will come with the car (pictured). A "Turn-Six" sway bar was installed at some point as noted by paperwork found with the manuals.
The numbers matching 2.4 liter inline six still retains its original air cleaner cover and SU-style Hitachi carbs mated to a 4 speed transmission. Independent suspension with MacPherson struts in front and Chapman struts in back. Front disk brakes and drums in the rear. The car does not run but the previous owner said it ran when parked 25 years ago.
