1979 Datsun Z-Series Additional Info:

Up for auction is a 1979 Datsun 280ZX that was manufactured in August of 1978. The car has a 2.8L Inline 6 Cylinder Engine and a 5-Speed Manual Transmission. The car is equipped with many features such as power mirrors, power windows, cruise control, A/C (blows cold) and Heat, headlight sprayers, and will include a Pioneer CD player.
Body is in pretty good shape with rust in some places. Frame looks solid and floor pans seem to be in good shape. The car obviously needs new paint, and will be quite the looker afterwards. The original color was blue. The previous owner sprayed the car with a matte white that is flaking off. Has 15" turbo wheels off of I believe a 1982 Turbo 280ZX (not 100% certain). Tires have good tread but are a bit dry rotted due to the car sitting for 5 years before I purchased it.
I have owned the car for a year and have done a number of things to it including new spark plugs, spark plug wires, battery, valve cover gasket, fuel tank, fuel sending unit, fuel injectors, cylinder head temperature sensor, flushed fuel lines, cleaned electrical connections, replaced starter, installed carpet and interior panels, etc. Used to have a receipt from the master cylinder being replaced in 2011.
The car will come "as is" with no warranty or return options. It is a PROJECT car. I have many spare parts including new gaskets for the upper and lower parts of the engine, spare fuel tank and fuel sending unit (will need reconditioning due to rust), piston rings, power steering belt, alternator belt, and various extra interior pieces. As well as a fender for the front passenger side but it's a little beat up. The rear passenger caliper is seized at the moment, but can be freed to allow it to be driven onto a trailer or pulled onto a tow truck for delivery. The car has the potential to be a daily driver if new brakes are installed. When I purchased the car, it did not run and most of the interior was missing. It is not perfect by any means, but has a lot of potential. The car is dirty in the photos but will be cleaned before the buyer comes to pick up the car. Buyer is responsible for delivery of the vehicle.
I have put lots of time and money into the vehicle, however, I no longer have the time to finish it. I have driven it for the last few days with no problem until the caliper seized on me. With new brakes, I have no doubt that the car would be able to make a 2 hour trip, although I wouldn't chance it. Again, this is a project car. It is street legal, and could be a daily driver with minor work.
