1979 Datsun 620 King Cab Additional Info:

Rare 3rd owner Delux King Cab locally owned pickup. Purchased from the daughter of the original owner. Had a camper shell most of it's life which protected the bed from rust and sidewall dings. No signs of any accidents.Truck was in good condition when purchased, carburetor had failed and it sat for years in a covered carport. Paint had faded and oxidized, and was worn thru in spots. Had minor rust spots in bed.Intended to use as a dump runner, felt it was too nice for that, and intended to just fix it up I but went totally overboard. Replaced just about everything, took about 3 years, never really driven it since completion. Try to drive it once a month just to keep everything working.
This truck turns heads everywhere you go, almost too much.
This was a factory "loaded" version which was rare, it included chrome trim on all the windows, wood grain steering wheel and shift knob, rear sliding window, chrome hubcaps and trim rings, front and rear center console, rear accessory storage pouch, chrome step bumper (included but not installed), rear air shocks, fabric lined door panels, bucket seats, gas door lock, Mud flaps, etc.
What has been done:Complete rebuild on L20b motor, (less than 2000 miles) pistons, rings, cam, valves, timing chain, oil pump, ground and polished crank, rods machined, new bearings, water pump, fuel pump, gaskets, Weber Carb and air cleaner, starter, alternator, distributor cap, rotor, plugs, wires, hoses, fuel lines, clutch, belts, fluids, master and slave cylinders, Radiator, and more.
Paint and body: New paint in original Nissan 305 blue, matches door jambs and interior. 3 coats of paint and clear coat. New rubber throughout, window felt, window squeegees, door stops, rubber door seals, tailgate bumpers, rubber signal and light trims, hood bumpers, hood rubber seal, hood latch covers, etc.
Interior: Custom re-upholstered original bucket seats in black/grey fabrics, newer heavy blue carpet, dash cap, original door interiors with newer fabric. Original liner. Rare original rear center console in excellent condition. Rare original front center console with factory radio (unknown condition) and A/C controls, (No A/C) also in excellent condition. Dealer option rear interior accessory holder.
Mechanical: New Rear air shocks, new front shocks, new front end: Ball joints and seals, steering and suspension bushings, steering rods, adjustable toe and camber. New front (discs) and rear brakes and cylinders, front brake lines, bumper rubbers and more. Matching steel belted Tires are 80% or better.
Needs: Only things I can think of would be a front end alignment, most all steering and suspension was replaced but I never had a professional alignment done. Recently on the freeway heard a sound that sounded like the driveshaft center carrier bushing. Hums occasionally at certain speeds. Looked good during rebuild so it wasn't replaced. Has aftermarket jack. Couple interior panels are solid but could use new paint. Has no stereo. Window has two chips. Have a spare but tire is marginal. Heater fan works on medium and high only. Speedometer reads about 10-15 miles faster than you are going. (Common with these trucks)
Warning about "Barn Finds": Most barn finds even though original, will require $1000's to make into nice trucks. Everything rubber has failed, older low mileage engines will blow head gaskets after sitting for years, suspension and steering components crack and dry up, brake and clutch components get moisture inside and cause corrosion, seals leak oil and other fluids, the coolant ports are typically clogged with sediment as well as the radiator. Carbs leak and don't perform well. Ball joints crack and dry up. Tires can be dangerous to drive on. A tune-up does not even come close to making these trucks daily drivers, yet alone show trucks.
This is a restored "Barn Find" with all those things fixed. Labor and materials worth over $10,000 invested.
