These cars were only produced in this format for a few months at the end of the 510 run in 1980 and 1981. They weren't common to begin with, and have become pretty scarce in the last few years. This particular car may well be one of the best preserved and most original examples left. I've looked and haven't seen a single one on ebay or craigslist in a long time.
There have been no significant modifications to the car from the day it left the factory and still wears most of the original paint and remains practically rust-free (having lived in California until 2013) except for a few areas with minor surface rust. It's first winter was this past season in NYC and was always promptly wiped free of snow the following day. Strangely for a West Coast car, the dash pad is not all cracked up, and the door panels are in excellent original condition. The car is fun to drive, and hardly uses any gas at all. Currently has just over 168,000 miles.

It's a super fun car to drive. I get compliments all the time whether at a stoplight or horn honks on the highway. It also has got the best steering radius of any car I've ever driven. Can't remember the last time I actually had to do a K-turn. The Datsun market is funny these days. What I do know is that decent and fairly original examples of the early U.S. Nissans have become hard to find at any price, especially if you're not in California. Fuel economy is just about on par with a new generic econobox is a good bonus.
Obviously the 510 is being sold as is/where is and with no warranty of any sort. That said, I would drive the car anywhere, anytime.
