1978 Chrysler New Yorker St Regis Additional Info:

A beautiful New Yorker with the St Regis package. This car was used by snowbirds to make their trips to Florida until they finally settled in Jacksonville. I brought the car to MA to enjoy for summer cruises and long drives in complete comfort.
The car was 1 owner until last year. It has gone through many recent mechanical and cosmetic upgrades to maintain its original beauty. It is quite striking to see this go down the road and when you go to a car show it is the belle of the ball. It has won many local shows even though it is not a perfect car.
Mechanical
Recent tires, complete front and rear brakes with master cylinder too, fresh tune up including wires, plugs, points, rotor, condenser and cap, new radiator, belts and hoses, all fluids changed including engine oil, transmission flush and rear end oil too, hard to find wiper transmission connectors, rebuilt carb, new distributor, yes this was converted from the fragile lean burn system, new water pump, new muffler, All of the lights and safety items work as they should Radio with 8 track and 2 cases of tapes It passed the stringent MA inspection without a problem. The AC needs a re-charge. The carb is rebuilt but it is still cold blooded. It needs to warm up a bit but then runs and drives like a dream. Very nice and original Chrysler road wheels. The gas gauge does not work which might be a fuse or it needs a fuel sending unit.
Interior
The leather, dash pad and most surfaces are very nice. The head liner and carpet are recent and nicely done. There is some wear on the drivers seat with a small split behind the back rest and a small split in the drivers door panel. These defects are shown in the pictures. The drivers window is a little jerky going down but perfect going up. The window track probably needs lube or a bushing. The engine bay is nicely detailed. The trunk is also detailed including the original window sticker and Chrysler brochure.
Exterior
The New Yorker is quite impressive in style and the white with red accents makes for a beautiful combination. The car has had paint work and touch ups over the years. If you look very close there is a slight difference in color from the doors back. The right side below the bottom body line has some corrosion near the fender skirt and there is some on the right door also. These defects are shown in the pictures too. It is not a perfect car but it would not take much to make it new again. The car was Ziebart undercoated when new which has preserved the body along with its residence in Florida.
In summary this is a very nice car that runs and drives like a dream. There has been a lot of work done to make this car dependable for shows or that special date night. The car always draws a crowd and has won several times at local car shows this year.
