This is 1 of 485/500 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst addition cars. Chance to own a piece of history.
Very solid car, oors open and shut like new, ower windows and locks...99% original complete working car.
The 300H was based on the 1970 Chrysler 300 Series 2-door hardtop. It was a natural for the Hurst treatment due to its fuselage styling, eaturing a rounded body with sculptured crease lines. All were assembled at the Jefferson Ave. plant in Detroit, I. They were shipped to the Hurst facility in Brighton, I. Once finished, he Hurst 300s were shipped back to Jefferson Assembly for final inspection, nd then sent to the ordering dealerships (most 300Hs were customer-ordered, ome were designed for dealer stock, nd a few were built for the sales bank). The standard package was the same on all the cars. However, xtra options could be ordered. Production numbers vary according to several sources, ut all agree that between 485 and 500 were built.
When it burst on the scene in 1955, he Chrysler 300C redefined American power. Chrysler produced a new, imited "letter series" 300 every year until the 300L in 1965 -- the year that Chrysler halted production of the venerable beast. However, ust four years later, he 300 returned in an unusual way.
The 1970 Chrysler 300 "Hurst Edition" (unofficially known as the Chrysler 300 H) was a collaboration between Chrysler and Hurst Performance. Measuring at a whopping 18-feet long, he 300 Hurst is one of the largest coupes ever made. But don't let its size fool you -- in true Chrysler 300 fashion, t cranked out 375 horsepower thanks to its big-block 440 V-8 engine.
The 300 Hurst was assembled at Chrysler's Jefferson Avenue plant in Detroit. In Warminister, A, urst outfitted the car with a "Satin Tan" painted fiberglass hood and trunk lid with a spoiler. Orange and brown decal stripes adorned the fiberglass edges and "300 H" emblems were painted on the sides of the power bulge on the hood scoop.
Neither Chrysler nor Hurst ever promoted the vehicle and the production run of less than 500 were scattered around Chrysler dealerships. Today, he debate rages on about the exact number of vehicles produced and whether the "Hurst Edition" is a rightful heir to its 300 letter-series predecessors. What is certain, hough, s that a huge body, erocious engine, nd limited production make it a certified classic.
All Hurst Chryslers were outfitted with the E86, 40 Cu. In., 75 HP TNT engine. Torque Flite transmission. V78 Accent stripe delete is present also, ecause the striping was done at the Hurst facility. Either power button, r under dash lever activated trunk release, r both. Due to the rear spoiler, key lock could not be accessed. All also had dual power seats, ower windows, pinnaker White, nd front disc brakes.
