1961 Chrysler 300 Series Additional Info:
What we have here is a really interesting project for some lucky person. The Infamous "Bankers Hot Rod" A smooth, powerful, mean coupe with the heart of a Lion. I would assume that anybody looking at this ad would know all there is to know about this car, If not, Google it kids..375 hp torque: 495 lb-ft
So, the GOOD:Original rebuilt correct numbers 413 cross ram engine. About 1000 miles on it. It's basically restored under the hood. The only thing not working is the AC. All of the parts are there, I took out the AC condenser to get more air flow, it's wrapped up nicely in the trunk.Transmission is freshly rebuiltBrakes are all new, wheel cylinders, shoes, turned drums etc.Rims and tires are new- Vintiques 8x15 vintage(70's) style rims and firestone Indy500 radial tires.Rear end is fineNew 2 1/2 inch full length exhaustInterior is mostly there, Dash is complete, all the seats are there(power, swivel seats), center console with working Mechanical tach is there, door panels are there. I think the only thing missing is the divider between the cabin and trunk.I have the 300 grill emblem and cross bar, one side broke off but could be repaired. It doesn't have the correct grill surround that says "Chrysler"I have all 4, 300G hub capsAnd the not so Good:Rusted lower door rocker panels mostly behind doors. The outer skin is rusted through-I have replacement panels for both sides included.Rusted rear C pillars both sides. Seems to be structually fine but will need to be patched or cut out and replaced.Rusted trunk pan/floor-I have a replacement for this too but it isn't a exact copyThe floor boards and Interior of the car are totally fine, solid, no rust. The hood is pretty bad, it's about a 3 out of 10, I have another hood that I will put on it that is about a 7 out of 10. It's Black with some surface rust. Conclusion:So, it's a little rough, it needs Body work, Interior redone, most things re-chromed, paint, new weather stripping, and some TLC.But it's a worthy project, These cars are fetching $70,000 plus dollars these days.. it drives and functions as Is so you could go at it slow or totally restore it at once. It's been sitting covered for a year and a half in California. It needs some love but she's a beast, and really really unique. I would love to keep her but I am raising money to rebuild my 56 DeSotoIf you have any questions please contact me before the end of auction.Car is located in Chatsworth California. It is up to you to transport it from there.Side note:I used this car in a Pilot for a TV show, you can really check it out in action.. but you have to email me and I will send you the link. Ebay doesn't seem to allow me to insert it here. Thanks ebay.Any would be producer types that want to make a TV show, let me know, we're ready to go...sep we might have to use a different car in the future if this one sells..
Thanks for looking!
