1950 Chrysler New Yorker Additional Info:

Hello! And thanks for looking. Here I am selling my 1950 Chrysler New Yorker. The car was bought new in 1950 by a gentleman for his wife's 50th birthday. She passed away in the 1980's and the car was sold to its second owner. The second owner kept the car and drove it often, ntil he passed away in about 2013, f I recall correctly. His widow sold me the car.Now about the car.... It is a running and driving car, ut of course, ts not a show car. The paint is cracking, hich is consistent with the old lacquer paints. Plugs, ires, oints, nd condenser have all been recently replaced. Battery is about a year old. I leave it on a maintenance charge to avoid dead battery problems. The brakes need work. It stops but will lose fluid after a period of time. The carburetor will need a rebuild, s its accelerator pump isn't squirting fuel as it should. Startups after sitting a while require either starting fluid or some fuel poured into the carb. Headlights, aillights, toplights, nd turn signals are working. Wipers work when they want to. Speedometer works, long with all the rest of the gauges. Rockers and floors seem pretty solid. Trunk has some rust around the gasket area, nd the well where the spare tire sits. There's also some rust around the drip rails, nd around the rear glass chrome. Handbrake works. Radio is out, ut I do have it, nd another one like it for a parts unit that will go with the car. As can be seen, he dash pad has been removed, s it was coming off on its own. It was removed the rest of the way and will also go with the car. The spotlight on the car, long with the fog lamps, re all Mopar, owever, do not think they have ever been wired to the car. The rear wheel skirts are in the trunk. The car has 4 brand new Good Year tires, hich have less than 20 miles on them. I have a clean and clear Louisiana title in hand. Last ride out I drove it about 60 mph on the interstate. Bring your trailer. I'll drive it up and help you secure the car down in any way that I can. I've tried to describe the car as best as I can. I dont want people to think they are buying a show quality car and be disappointed. The car is a great candidate for a restoration, s its intact, nd runs and drives. Also, y location is about 40 minutes north of New Orleans, ouisiana. If you prefer to call, can be reached at 985-981-4051. I think I have covered all the bases here, ut please, eel free to ask any questions. Thanks for looking.
