1965 Chrysler 300 Series 300 Additional Info:

I became hooked on Chryslers several years ago and have owned 7 of them in that time. This car is by far the best of them all. I intended to keep it indefinitely because it's such a well-sorted car. Everything in the car works with the exception of the clock and wipers. Yeah, I know, weird. Of all the things, the wipers. You'd think it would be the radio or gas gauge or windows, but no. The wipers. The fuse is good and the wiper motor is good, but the switch turns freely without a "click", so I'm sure it just needs a switch.

I'll start by saying that this car has exactly 78,251 miles on it at this moment and it runs, drives and stops as though it has even less than that. If you know the 60's Chryslers, then you know what an incredible ride you're in for. Ignore pot holes and speed bumps, literally. You and the car won't notice them. This car is quiet and all you hear is the low rumble of the 360 HP 383-4bbl with factory dual exhaust. No squeaks or rattles. This is a solid car with supple bushings in all areas of the suspension and steering. One-finger steering, by the way. No better steering or suspension than that of a Chrysler. The engine runs awesomely with absolutely no issues and no leaks. It burns NO oil. Compression is consistent in all cylinders and there's no smoke, ever. These cars are very underrated for power. This car will spin the tires with ease, on command with a tap of the gas pedal. Factory posi rear. The transmission is the factory heavy-duty 727 and if you're in the gas, it chirps 2nd gear every time, with a little "wiggle" in the rear from the posi. Something I did not expect out of this car. To give an idea of its power, this car is just a slight hair quicker/faster than a '69 GTO with a factory 400/automatic. It's fun to embarrass people by blowing their doors off in a 5000 lb land yacht. You just THINK about accelerating up a hill and this car will do it effortlessly, even in 3rd gear at low RPM.

Everything about this car is consistent with a 78K miles (or less) car. It has had one high-quality, professional repaint in the original color one year ago. The body is perfectly straight all over. There are no dings, scratches or chips anywhere. The paint shines like brand new. All of the stainless trim on the car is either flawless or 99% flawless and shines like new. Just beautiful! All windows are chip and crack-free. The bumpers are excellent! The rear is original to the car and shows almost no signs of age. No dings, dents, scratches or rust anywhere on either bumper. The original front bumper had peeling, so I replaced it with the most amazing original chrome Newport bumper imaginable. It's virtually flawless. The buyer will have the choice between the original peeled bumper or the Newport bumper shown on the car in the pics. There's no way to ship or send an extra bumper with the car and it doesn't fit in the trunk. The grille and all emblems are perfect. The rear trim panel below the trunk is 99% perfect with one small ding on the right half. The glass over the headlights is perfect.

The interior is 100% original. Nothing has been repaired or replaced and it is in amazing condition. All of the upholstery and panels in the car are perfect with the exception of the driver's seat, which has a few seam splits. No fading at all on the upholstery. The dash pad is 100% mint perfect. All of the chrome on the interior is shockingly perfect! Just amazing chrome everywhere, and there's lots of it! The carpet looks great in all areas except under the driver's feet where there's a worn spot. No stains or fading. All painted surfaces on the interior are perfect with no chips or scratches and it shines very well. Ash trays appear unused and there are no funky smells in the car. In fact, I detect some of the original "new car smell". There is a vintage 1960's aftermarket air conditioning unit that works. Everything works including both blinker cancellors. The headliner is perfect, as are the visors. The steering wheel is mint in every way. The chrome horn ring and center look awesome and the transluscent, body-color steering wheel has no imperfections. Just a stunning interior.

This car has been stored in a garage all of it's life, since it was brand new and it shows that fact no matter where you look. Never any rust. The original trunk mat (carpet) is still fully intact but the rubber underside has dried and cracked off. In the pic of the inside of the trunk, you can see where I pulled the carpet back, the dry rubber pieces are there (I will sweep it out prior to delivery) and under the trunk carpet you can see that the metal is perfect. Zero rust. Factory paint remains perfect under there. The cardboard trunk liners are all undamaged and still quite clean. The original spare is included with the car, but I removed it for the pics. The original jack and all equipment is still there, locked into it's intended place. Jack instructions remain under the trunk lid. All four hubcaps are 99% perfect and shine great.

The brakes are beyond perfect and were checked 2 months ago and are 90% to the good. This car, regardless of its weight, will stop on a dime. The tires have at least 90% tread left. Alignment is dead-on.

Doors, trunk, hood and glove box all open and close perfectly with zero issues. A gentle push will close and latch the doors. No slamming needed. All panels are perfectly aligned. The trunk closes with a touch of your finger with a gentle "click". Just like a high-end American luxury car should be.

I have more pictures, though there are 24 in the listing, which should be plenty. I may be leaving something out, so please don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have. Thanks for looking!
