1981 Chevrolet Blazer K5 Additional Info:

Up for auction is a solid 1981 K-5 Chevy Blazer.

The Blazer has been my family's daily-driver since I purchased it in 2012. Previous owner was a retired engineering-company owner from Reno, NV who used it infrequently for camping, and to tow a light-weight fishing boat. It's got the 350 V-8 and heavy-duty tow hitch with 7-pin wiring hookup, and electronic variable trailer-brake control.

I’ve kept it maintained mechanically and ready for any 4WD snowy-driving situation at our home in Lake Tahoe. Anytime something came up or broke I fixed it. Replaced the transmission, hoses, brakes, alternator, etc. — and I’ve kept all the records. I’m a classic-car lover and have kept it all original with the exception of slightly larger tires better for snow. Everything in the interior is original, even the radio. All gauges work, speedometer is correct, it has the look and feel of a great old 4x4. It’s however not perfect: there is a crack in the dash, rips in the seats, stains on the carpet, and rust outside in the typical places. It’s a strong runner though, and has never let us down: my 17 year-old daughter just drove it from North Lake Tahoe to San Juan Bautista last week without a hiccup — however long the drive, I've always been confident in the Blazer's ability to get me and my kids there safely!

The chrome is in good condition, there are extra front bumper parts and lights. The roof does come off but I have never taken it off in the four years I've had it, and I don't believe it ever has been. The back tailgate window only goes up and down from the inside switch. The air-condition does not work but the heat comes out strong and hard. Over all it’s a great looking head-turner, people ask me about it all the time. It's an awesome candidate for restoration, or a ready-to-roll driver that will get you there in classic style! It’s being sold as is, no returns, so please ask all questions and look at all the photos carefully for the details.
