1962 Chevrolet Impala Additional Info:

Virginia Black plate car, same owner over 40 years always garaged. Car was in storage for 15 years. This is a typical mid 80s restoration that is showing signs of wear and tear, chips dull paint etc...Looks like a 2 stage paint job that was never sanded/polished...No cracking etc, just a few chips and some very slight bubbling under some of the old bodywork in 2 or 3 spots..It might clean up,.its going to need a hood...the rest of the body is original panels that are pretty straight, floor frame and trunk are good...no rust. All glass and weatherstripping are in good shape, all chrome, stainless, and brightwork is in excellent shape and on car. Aside from the non-original steering wheel and radio the interior is perfect including the headliner. The drivetrain / brakes/ suspension/ accys. were gone through a year and a half ago. Engine is a QP code block I believe its 020 over,Isky solid cam (510 510) muncie trans, and 3.70 gearing. Recent work on this car within the last year and a half when the car came out of storage is as follows......New gas tank and sender, new fuel lines, rebuilt and set up 2 edelbrock carbs, duel tandem master cyl, front disk brake conversion, stainless brake lines up front, brake bias valve, new rear wheel cylinders, brakes and hardware. Suspension was gone through with new shocks, stabilizer links, rear trailing arm replaced with poly bushing UMI piece.New aluminum radiator and water pump, elec cooling fan, TEMP OIL VOLT gauges (runs at 180 with 60 psi oil press) 1 wire 100 amp alt. Full MSD ignition system with slip collar type distributor...car always starts right up. I am listing this for a friend and I could tell you he spent well over 4K in the last 2 years getting this car back in shape. This is a solid driver quality car that you could get in and drive....is it perfect? No Is it original? NO...but if you have read this far you know what these cars are going for......and there are not many left. There is still a lot of life and potential left in this one. I would be more than happy to answer any questions, I will be taking this car to some of the local shows so this listing may end early if the right offer comes along. Thanks all for looking! UPDATE 7/2/16 Wet sanded right front fender and part of hood with 2000 grit wet paper very lightly followed by some white compound, paint came right back to life. It may be entirely possible to save this paint job and do some spot repairs, added 2 pictures close up with 3 fingers is the top of the fender.
