1968 Chevrolet Camaro Additional Info:

Please take the time to read all I have listed about this wonderful 1968 Camaro SS. I wanted to cover as much as I could about its fantastic condition. It is set up the same way I had mine in 1974. Very period correct in styling and performance for that time! Not a high tech resto mod, or a drag racer that is stripped down. Just a really good looking, close to factory complete, street cursing muscle car in that attention getting deep red color! Tons of power and performance but an easy cruiser. Thanks for looking!!

I am offering for sale my 1968 Camaro SS with the always sought after 350 small block, 4-speed transmission and strong 12 bolt rear end. The only option is power steering, no other "power robbers" attached to this street beast! This stunning Camaro SS is in a beautiful high gloss red and sporting the most popular white nose stripe, a beautiful combination. The interior is in the classic black vinyl. Condition is exceptional with a rock solid straight body. This car has had a mild restoration some years in the past but still looks like it was done yesterday - I have also updated some pieces with OER parts. It was not a complete nut & bolt restoration but all major items have been either repaired, replace or restored. Look over the pics. and judge for yourself! Always pampered and garaged. This 1968 Camaro was produced in the Van Nuys California factory – Since the original engine is long gone I can not 100% guarantee it being a true SSbut it does have multi-leaf rear springs, staggered shocks, 12 bolt rear end (just as the SS cars came), SS hood, SS steering wheel and is a 4-speed car with all drum breaks.Speedometer has original miles of only 107,XXX showing. Always a California Car - Have copy or previous California title that will be included.

Additional information:

Engine-Strong 350 ci. the best balanced engine option for the Camaro! (regrettably not the original) – Beautiful looking crate small block with: Holly aluminum heads, intake and carburetor performance package, Mallory ignition, Headers, Mild Hydraulic Cam (potent with a good lope but not hard to live with), new original equipment replacement fan shroud. Low miles and a strong performer.Tight and very dependable. Lots of chrome accessories. Smooth shifting 4-speed transmission with Hurst shifter. 12 bolt rear end with lower gearing – I’m not sure the ratio but at least 3:73, possibly 4:11. Allows the car to accelerate very nicely. Nice chrome diff cover installed. Engine always runs cool and never overheats.

Body is beautiful with a glass like red paint and white nose stripe. Very solid with no rust, dents, dings or scratches - as mentioned a California car. Has new original equipment reproduction bumpers, rear tail lights/lenses, door mirror, hood vent scoops and door sill plates. All new gleaming chrome!Gleaming stainless steel trim as well.Includes both front and rear spoilers. All lights, signals, marker lights, dome light, dash light, wiper and horn work as they should. Even the door buzzer is in working order. The heater controls are in place but not currently connected since it is not driven in cold weather. All original seat belts are still in place. Trunk is solid with nice mat.

Interior is mostly original with some new original equipment reproduction replacement parts added to the console. Has the small “ss” steering wheel that has been leather wrapped. Original speedometer and indicator lights work. Currently does not have a radio unit installed, just the radio delete panel – the engine in this car is all the music you need or it is ready for what ever system you want to install! New 1968 style Camaro SS floor mats. Seats are good with no tears. Carpet is nice as well. New glove box interior. It has a factory console with 4-speed Hurst shifter.

Tires & WheelsOriginal 70’s era American Racing 2000 “Daisy” 5 spoke wheels with the polished edge and polished front of spokes. They even have the Pat. Pending welded to the inside of the wheels so they are the early production. Mounted with BF Goodrich TA Radial tires. Has the” Big & Small Look” ( Big Rear & Small front tires) that was popular in the early 1970’s. Wheels are in excellent condition for the age and the tires have great balanced tread all around.

Exhaust – Full free flowing exhaust system with great sound. Rear chrome tips located in original turn down location just behind the rear tires. Not too loud but you sure do hear it! Classy sound, not noisy and cheap like some are.

This Classic Camaro Muscle Car will only continue to increase in value. I have maintained and looked after it for several years and now it’s time to pass it on to someone else to enjoy! It has always been parked in my garage and never left alone in the elements. There are only about 3 small items I would consider this car needing in the future if I kept it. – 1 -The headliner is original and has couple of tears. Definitely still usable and really not that easy to notice but I would replace at some point. 2 -The car appears to have all original “green” tint glass still present. The passenger’s side window has some light swirl scratches that should buff out easily with the new glass polish that is out there. 3 – the original dash top has a couple of cracks but again, not that bad. You could easily change it out if they bothered you. That’s about it! It’s that nice of a Camaro!! Also, I know some folks enjoy the idea that some of the original parts are still present on a car that is 48 years old and made it this long!

I hate to part with this car and wont unless the fair reserve is met. Starting to down size and making room in the garage for a new 2016 vehicle. I am in my later 50's so it is not a car that has been pushed hard or abused. Just cruised in and displayed at car shows. I had a Camaro just like this one when I was 17 so when I found it I couldn't resist it!!

Feel free to ask any questions you have prior to bidding. I will answer them all and supply additional pics if needed. I haveaccurately described the cars condition to the best of my knowledge. I personally feel it is as nice of a 68 Camaro, for the modest reserve I have on it, that you can find out there! That said it is a 48 year old car and is being sold - "As is As Described to the best of my ability". Nowarrantiesorguaranteeswill be included as part of this sale. It is the buyers responsibility to provide pick up andtranspiration for this car after purchase. Winning bidder must provide an immediate deposit of $500.00 into my Pay Pal account (even if local or picking up quickly)with balance due within 7 days of auction close by certified bank funds or by bank wire transfer.
