1940 Chevrolet Other Sedan Streetrod Additional Info:

Look through our inventory and you'll see plenty of 1940 Fords, but oddly, not nearly as many Chevrolets. The big two have been duking it out since the mid-20s, and if your tastes run to the pre-war era, you owe it to yourself to take a good look at this gorgeous 1940 Chevrolet Master Sedan Streetrod. Neatly built with a 350 V8 motor and a lot of comfort and convenience items, this is the perfect rod for the person who loves to drive. The red paint was expertly applied at the time of this '40s extensive restoration several years ago, and on the curvaceous body it looks great, bringing out the details and giving it a nice glow out in the sunlight. The body is OEM steel that hasn't been chopped or modified in any way. And why would you? The Master is already one of the most handsome cars of the era, with tidy proportions, cool faired-in headlights, and a timeless profile. Bodywork is solid, with a lot of extra care used on the final finish, and even though there are some signs of use today, this is a very presentable driver that still turns lots of heads. That means tons of pre work was done right when it was finished several years back, and there was an expert behind the paint gun to lay it down so beautifully. Again, it shows it's age a bit, but with the employ of a skilled detailer to complete a cut-and-polish detail, lots of life could be restored to look good for years to come. A few custom liberties were taken, specifically the low-profile side mirrors, deleted bumpers fore and aft, and blue-dot taillights. Is mostly de-trimmed as well, although the brightwork on the hood, in the center of the V'd windshield, and on the iconic horizontal grille was left alone and we love the contrast that little bit of bling provides. You couldn't ask for a better place to spend some time than the comfortable two-tone interior. Designed with red and light beige fabric, the presentation and level of comfort inside the cabin is first rate, and even though the patterns may seem a bit dated, it's all still very presentable. Up front the bench seat features red-and-white upholstery, the backseat area was upholstered to match, and there's plenty of room for your larger friends. There's also Vintage A/C, an AM/FM/Cassette head unit, and a modern two-spoke steering wheel mounted atop a late-model column that gives the driver even more room behind the wheel. The original dash was painted two-tone to match and uses VDO gauges for a cool effect against the finish, and things like the A/C vents and controls are nicely integrated underneath. The massive trunk has been finished with matching carpets and side panels and houses a couple big speakers for the stereo system. If you're going cross-country, this is definitely the car to take. Cruising is easy thanks to the 350 V8 motor under the hood that's running great. Making plenty of horsepower, it moves the slick Chevy with authority that the original inline-six could never manage. With a 4-barrel carburetor and performance intake, long-tube headers, an updated ignition, and an updated wiring harness, it's a reliable powerplant that's also a party on the road. There's enough chrome and detail on the engine to make opening the hood an event, and thanks to a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission, it handles the power from the small block without issue and cruises effortlessly. Out back there's a 10-bolt rear end with highway-friendly gears, and the front suspension is an independent Mustang II style setup with rack and pinion steering. There are also updated shocks and springs, and thanks to power front disc brakes, driving this steel '40 is an absolute dream. Long-tube headers feed into a dual exhaust that features Flowmaster mufflers, and the low rumble is absolutely fantastic at almost every rev point. Classic Cragar SS wheels wear 235/60/14 front and 255/60/15 rear radials that really fill the big wheel wells and finish the look. This awesome '40 Chevy is a great show and go cruiser that'll make you smile every time you see it. Call today!
