1968 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500 Additional Info:

1968 Chevrolet Pickup

The model year 1960 brought the Chevrolet pickup into the modern era with its C/K series lineup. The "C" designation identified two-wheel-drive pickups, and the "K" identified 4X4s. The most common pickup was the C10, a half-ton truck with a 6.5- or 8-foot cargo box. The C/K series trucks remained essentially the same vehicle during a series of conservative redesigns, until 1997, when the 1998 Silverado replaced it.

For consignment, a very well done restoration, the beneficiary of a frame off process, during which a late model step side bed was put on, a custom fabricated fuel tank relocation, interior upgrades, ION wheels and low profile rubber along with fabulous paint, and we have a goer and a shower 2WD 1/2 ton beauty.

Exterior
Off the frame the original body went, and the bed was replaced with a newer model step side bed. Other steel surfaces were painstakingly smoothed and sanded, and then put back together with well minded gaps, and bathed in just beautiful red paint. Looking closely, it is flawless, and definitely the deep end of the pool. Chrome for the grille and front bumper was all re-plated, as well as on back the rear bumper widened to accommodate the step sides on back. Badging is also perfect with the bowties and a chromed 10 below. New body matching aerodynamic side view mirrors replace the older clunky ones, and all window trimmings were blackened for the full effect. A rubber bed liner protects the bed bottom, and the inside box is also in very nice condition, with no scratches or even wear. On all 4 corners are ION polished wheels and these are wrapped in BF Goodrich low profile T/A tires.

Interior
Flipping open the very nice doors you'll be seeing more red with horizontal tuck and roll insert vinyl panels which house perfect levers and window cranks, as well as the armrest/pull. Above and below are utilitarian metal in red. Slipping inside past all the new rubber door seals we find ourselves on a perfect red bench which faces a new dash which neatly retains the look of the original, but has extra gauges added into the black textured field. Red for the remainder of the dash which goes from side to side, and now has A/C installed, an aftermarket JVC AM/FM/CD player neatly inserted, and nicely chromed polished A/C vents. Pristine red carpet floods the floors, and above is more painted polished metal for the interior roof. Noted tinted glass is on this truck.

Drivetrain
Opening the hood reveals a showroom condition restored engine bay bathed in more red and some black. Corrosion free components hang off a 1978 Chevrolet Camaro 350 V8 now neatly painted and with polished Edelbrock valve covers. On top is an Edelbrock intake, topped with a 4-barrel carburetor. A 4-speed OD transmission is now strapped on, also from the Camaro, as well as a 10-bolt rear from the Camaro. All supple hoses and a new radiator are just a few of the many like new features of this drivetrain.

Undercarriage
Due to the frame off restoration, the underside is just as nice as the topside. All rust free black frame, rockers, and floorpans, a custom built fuel tank, dual exhaust which snakes rearward from the headers, and a totally leak and drip free transmission and oil pan are seen. Like new disc brakes are up front, and drums for the rear, as well as all very clean suspension...no road dirt to be seen underneath.

Drive-Ability
I slipped inside and was amazed at the attention to detail with the paint, interior surfaces, new dash, and just...everything! She fired right up and to the test track we drove where this truck performed flawlessly. Tight power steering, straight bias free power brakes, nice acceleration and even a smooth comfortable cruise with plenty of interior room. All functions were working very nicely.

From head to toe, top and bottom, every inch is near perfect on this '68 C-10. Get in and turn the key and you'll be the envy of your construction crew showing up to the site in this beauty. It's that nice, you could even take the wife out to an expensive dinner in it to celebrate your purchase of said truck! (although make sure there is a nice gift on the seat for her when she gets in!)
