1968 Chevrolet El Camino Custom Additional Info:

. . ** POWER STEERING, POWER DISC BRAKES, TUBULAR A-ARMS 4-LINK REAR END** Have you been looking build a 1968 El Camino? If you have you know that even if you started with a free truck it would cost you MORE than we are asking to do to it what this truck has had done to it. This truck has great bones. Let’s talk about the VIN decoding on this 1968 El Camino. It is a 36 - Custom El Camino 8-cylinder truck. Some of these were a 307 V8 but this could have been ordered with the 427 that we are told is currently in it, we just don’t know. I pulled the alternator to see the engine pad stamping which you can see in the picture it is completely blank, which could be because it was a special order, or because the block was “decked” when rebuilt we just don’t know on this one. Then for the 7th digit “Z” built in Fremont, California. As for the trim tag Paint is CC Ermine white upper and lower Trim (Interior) 782 Medium Saddle Imitation Leather, now gray tweed. Because of the blemishes in the paint we have the reserve set very low, and for the need of a quick sale. If you can make it to Idaho in the next ten days please come see and drive this BEAUTY for yourself, you won't be disappointed! THIS IS A QAULITY TRUCK! With only 2138 Miles since restored. We were told this truck has a rebuilt 427 CID Chevy motor with a chrome Edelbrock air cleaner Aluminum Edelbrock “Performer” manifold, Edelbrock 4 BBL carb with electric choke, finned aluminum valve covers, thick flanged ceramic coated headers, all cooled by a big 4-core Aluminum radiator with 2 10 inch electric thermostability controlled fans and sounds great too with the "throaty" dual Flowmaster style exhaust system. The motor is backed-up by a rebuilt TH350 Automatic transmission. This truck is such a fun driver! I drove this around town and on the freeway and I must tell you it was a joy to drive. The gears were plenty tall for the freeway and it cruised along at 75 MPH with no problem at like 2200 RPM (see picture) and still had plenty of power to smoke the tires off the line. This truck has Power disc brakes, Power steering, Tubular A-Arms, all polyurethane suspension bushings, new Ball joints, tie rods, front sway bar bushings, Overload bags inside the rear coil springs, Air shocks in the rear, rear acceptor hitch, new style A/C system compressor R134 conversion Currently not blowing cold, Tilt steering Colum, Billet Half wrapped leather steering wheel and Billet horn button, New Equus Gauge package (All working, Custom Dash Pad, Lokar floor shifter, 8 way Power driver’s seat and nice center console, Sony Xplod stereo with CD changer and look at the custom hand-painted glovebox. It drove tight and didn't wander or pull to one side even when applying the brakes, it is a two-finger driver! This vehicle is in nice condition from top to bottom and from front to back. THIS IS A QUALITY VEHICLE! It will not disappoint someone looking for a good example of a sought after and hard to find collector truck. If you have been looking but can not find a nice Classic 1968 Chevy El Camino worthy of your hard-earned money look NO further because this is the one! The Gunmetal Gray Metallic finish on this truck is in fair condition as you can see in the pictures it has some defects, a scrape on the passenger door, and chip on the tailgate, a bubble and scratch on driver’s door, big rust bubble low on the driver’s front fender and finally a fingernail chip in the passenger side roof above the drip rail (all detailed in the pictures) between the body pictures and the pictures of the bed. The black and gray interior is nice condition, what a Beautiful color combination. Brand new Brushed Aluminum US Mags 17-inch Wheels and Nitto Performance Directional radial tires give it that “Muscle car” look. I looked underneath and it is as nice underneath as is on top, (see included photos below).
