1951 Chevrolet Other Pickups Additional Info:

If you have been looking for that unique vehicle that when you cruise around or take it to a show NO ONE else has another one like it,then this is the ad you should be reading!!! This is definitely not your typical Rat Rod!!!
----CHECK OUT THE VIDEO AT THE END OF THIS DESCRIPTION---
This rat rod started life as a 1951 Chevrolet Pickup. The cab was chopped 5 inches. The body isn’t perfect but it is far better than most rat rods you see on the road for sure and was painted that classic hot rod black. The windshield is a two piece windshield and does have a crack on the drivers side.
The frame is a hand built 2x4 boxed frame. The rear axle is a 10 bolt Chevrolet with a posi rear end and 3.73 gears and drum brakes. The rear axle has a hand built 4 link that operates just as it should.
The front end is a straight axle from a ’55 chev truck with disc brakes added and power steering. Unlike most ratrods, this vehicle drives and handles very well.
The engine is a 408 Big Block( bored 396). It has a very mild Cam that really sounds great and allows the power disc brakes to perform well. It has an aluminum radiator with mechanical cooling fan, and dual 500 cfm carbs. The transmission is a TH400. Engine and transmission operate perfectly and runs super strong!
ON TO THE GOOD STUFF!!
Here are the things that really set this vehicle apart from everything else. A LOT of attention to detail was put into building this vehicle. The builder used TONS of commercial aircraft parts building this that really makes it very unique. Here is a list of just a few of the many cool features/touches that were added…
The bed floor is a Carbon Fiber floor that was removed from an airplane floor. It is hinged to allow access to the battery as well as the fuel cell but there is a fuel door also in the bed floor to allow quick and easy access when fueling. The seats are from a 737. The shifter is made from a Torque tube of a CRJ. Fuel pedal is made from the rear stair release of an MD80. Most of the accents you see in the interior was made from the trash cans of an Airbus. These are just a few of the custom touches you will see.
All the gauges work including the tach and speedo. This vehicle does have a very good heater but no a/c. It also has a bonded Arkansas title due to the fact of the owners of the cab were no longer living and a title could no longer be found. So it DOES have a CLEAR ARKANSAS BONDED TITLE. It is currently licensed and insured and everything works to make it a street legal vehicle in the state of Arkansas. Please check you own state laws before purchasing.
Bottom line is this vehicle is a rat rod in all aspects but does add a lot of flavor that most do not. And unlike most ratrods that are just thrown together, this one had A LOT of time and fabricating done to make it look, handle and drive to be enjoyed by many.. Let us know of any questions you may have and HAPPY BIDDING
