1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo MONTE CARLO Additional Info:

Very solid 1986 Monte Carlo SS - owned by me since 2001 56,000 when I located it with 56,000 miles. It has been a great car and I have had fun driving it every summer since then. There are 72,000+ original miles on her now. This car is a nice, clean, solid, well maintained, drivable example of this mid-80's NASCAR inspired coupe. There is zero rust on this car as it has been well taken care of - Any issues that crept up have been addressed over the years: intake gasket, water pump, valve cover gaskets, new radiator/radiator hoses (2003), thermostat, belts, new headliner, trunk dress up kit, vacuum hose, throttle linkage and choke adjusted and lubricated, tune up/new wires, and other minor things over the years. Wouldn't hesitate to drive this car anywhere. The minor issues that can be addressed are: left side speakers can cut in and out sometimes, air conditioning works - but isn't charged and needs to be converted to the new coolant (I am not willing to do this since I am selling it). Occasional drip of oil, which is pretty normal for these. Runs strong, shifts firmly, rides solidly, and only typical rattles in the doors from loose window sweeps (can be fixed). The car was lowered @ 1.5" with Eibach Pro performance springs and rides fantastic with almost no body roll in a turn - I will provide the original springs with the car, in the Eibach box. I removed the original stripes and opted for the 2001 MCSS badging. Stripe kits are available if you want to go back. There are other small minor imperfections - after all, if has 72000 miles - but has NEVER been driven in snow and only in rain by accident when it wasn't expected... The paint is in decent shape for the age - it isn't a trailer queen - a little bit of "crazing" on the top - but the color is all there and nothing really stands out in a negative way at all. There are a few small dings. The interior is not ripped or torn at all, but is a little faded in spots. The dash is in great shape though there is a small crack by the front left dash speaker. There is pitting on the chrome window handle cranks, etc.Car is, surprisingly, the currently more rare split bench font seat with column shift. The tires have many miles left on them - the wheels look great for the age. There is one lug nut cover missing. Probably available on one of the MCSS parts sites. All original stickers located on the drivers door, trunk lid underside, and engine compartment are present - car is all original except for the springs and missing body stripes (and parts used to repair issues along the way).
There are some beautiful MC's on Ebay - if you don't want to spend that much, here is a nice looking, clean, well kept and mechanically sound, nice driving MCSS that needs a new home. Not perfect, but a really nice car to own!
