Welcome to StreetDreamsTexas as celebrate our 21st year in the classic automobile business we have really placed ourselves as one of the Go To places for cool trucks. Here is one that is pretty special to me. I watched this truck for about 20 years outside plain dealing Louisiana behind a home under a carport. I kept telling myself you need to ask them if they would sell it. Then it was GONE I was like crap I waited too long. Then crazy enough I spotted it right outside of Benton, La on a trailer so for about 5 years I kept thinking the same thing. I have to stop one of these days and see if I could buy it. Finally about 2 years ago a guy was outside and my father-in-law and I were passing and said we have to turn around and go check that out. We whipped in and I asked the guy "hey man do you wanna sell that old truck"? He said "Do you see a sign on it"? I thought I would not get it and I n to iced a gun safe. I said "Do you like old guns"? Yes well a long story I traded him an old Colt, Ruger and a Dan Wesson 357 plus a pile of cash. The truck was sold at Red River Chevrolet in Bossier City. It is the year I was born and I was going to keep it for myself but I let one of my buddies talk me out of it and to fix it up for him. We ordered a brand new GM crate 330 hp H/O 350 and left the 3 speed but installed a new Hurst shifter, we added brand new power steering, power front disc brakes, heavy duty sway bars, modern stereo with blue tooth, a cool set of 20" Coys wheels, performance tires, brand new headers and exhaust system and had a distressed ball glove leather seat cover and new padding inside. The paint is a suede green with fake patina spots as that is the look he wanted. He had us put a brand new chrome grill, bumpers, mirrors and light bezels. My stepson custom made the wood bed out of Hickory and we installed new chrome strips. This truck has great documentation on the work we did as well as the original owners manual, protection plan manuals and so forth. I love driving this old truck as it sounds great, the ac is cold as my friend wanted a Daily Driver so that is what we build him.
