MacNeish-Authenticated Camaro Z/28 Original 302 Muncie 4-Speed Original 12-Bolt ///
The beneficiary of a detailed, ground-up restoration, this MacNeish-certified Camaro Z/28 is a choice collectible that currently presents much better than any factory original. During the car's precise reboot, solid sheetmetal was massaged into great alignment, layered in correct Olympic Gold 2-stage and streaked with ominous Rally Stripes. And today, one close look at our high-resolution photos reveals a handsome payoff in the form of one slick Chevrolet muscle car! Motivating this real-deal Z/28 is an original, MacNeish-certified 302 that, despite an official rating of just 290 horsepower, punched out something close to 375 horses straight from the factory! That small block spins a correct Muncie M21 4-speed, which, like the engine, was fully rebuilt by Miller Place, New York's Engines By Elsasser. That transmission twists an original, MacNeish-verified 12-bolt that's finished with a correct posi-traction differential and correct 3.73 gears. That rear end pushes a factory-spec suspension that's been upfitted with bright Bilstein shocks. Exhaust travels through aluminized pipes to an H-shaped crossover and throaty Flowmaster mufflers. Turns come courtesy of factory-style power steering. Power-assisted discs and drums provide quick and reliable stops. And everything rolls on dressed Rally Wheels. The Standard Black Interior hiding behind this Camaro's Olympic Gold doors is a correct factory affair that, 50 years after its debut, is still both stylish and cool. Tall bucket seats frame a wood-trimmed console that's finished with 4-pack accessory gauges and a polished Hurst shifter. In front of that island, a wood-trimmed dash hangs rebuilt factory telemetry next to a Delco AM radio. And the driver spins a reproduction Rally Wheel.
