You would be hard pressed to find a finer, low mileage, Camaro Berlinetta than this rare 1980 stunner. This two-owner car is in excellent condition. It was a true barn find with only 25,000 miles when I purchased it.The car was originally painted GM “Dark Brown Metallic” as well as rally wheels.
This car runs and sounds great. It starts almost immediately.
After purchasing I had the vehicle repainted GM “Bright Yellow”, even though the brown paint was in excellent condition.I replaced the original 305 engine with a new 350 crate engine, (driven approximately 3500 miles since installed), had the t-tops installed, and then changed out the rally wheels with the polyglass wheels you see in the pictures. The car is still 100% “stock” with the exception of the crate engine.Even the floor mats and GM-Delco AM-FM radio and speakers are stock.
This car is super clean and rust free.It has been barn and garaged since new.It is a non-smoking vehicle. It has won many awards and trophies at car shows and is a real head-turner everywhere it goes.
The second generation Berlinetta was marketed as the “Luxury Camaro”.Luxury in 1980 meant the interior came with an upgraded suspension package, cloth bucket “Berlinetta seats” air conditioning, automatic transmission, sport steering wheel, and upgraded interior insulation, as well as a number of exterior upgrades.
This Camaro has:
Automatic Transmission
Fisher Body t-tops with storage bags
Air Conditioning
Power Brakes
Power Door Locks
Power Windows
Rear Spoiler
Rear Defogger
Full spare tire
The sale also includes the original window sticker, build sheet, General Motors Assembly Manual, the 1980 Camaro sales brochure as well as a clear title.
The tires have very little tread wear and are in very good to excellent condition. As with most vintage vehicles, the clock is not in operating condition. There is a slight crack on the middle of the bottom grill that is shown in the last picture.
There are very few surviving second generation Berlinetta’s of show quality.Second generation Berlinetta’s, in this condition, are extremely rare. You may never seen one pass over the auction block at Barrett-Jackson, Mecum, or anywhere else.
