Amazing 1940 Tangerine Pearl paint and Suicide doors make this a very rare hot rod1 of only 613 ever built. Not many exist today and few are currently drivable and roadworthy
All Steel body with Suicide doors and shaved handles. Running boards have been smoothed/leaded along with the fenders have been molded into the body. Creating a clean look.Headlights have been Frenched in and turn signals are built into the headlights, while the tail lights are "1 off" Chevy bow ties that are recessed into the custom smoothed rear bumper. Rear gate is a one of a kind flip up hatch with door handle and hinges shaved. Gas tank re routed to modern flip out gas door.Front bumper has been removed cut outs filled and smoothed.
Several coats of catalyzed Urethane primer were sprayed all over this custom work. Then the body was blocked straight after that a custom PPG orange tangerine pearl base was applied, then followed by 3 coats of a fully catalyzed European urethane clear coat. The depth of this paint job is striking and certain to amaze!! The windshield is a custom 1 piece unit and the rest of the glass has been custom cut using real tinted glass.
an excellent low mileage 327 small block Chevy topped with an aluminum Holley street dominator intake manifold and a polished Edelbrock 600 cfm carburetor with an electric choke-flowing through headers and dual Flowmaster mufflers & backed by a smooth shifting turbo 350 automatic transmission. This 40 is a driver's delight!!
The 4-wheel power disc brakes keep it stopping smoothly and quickly. Power steering helps for easy maneuvering. The front suspension features a welded on 2nd generation Camaro front subframe with double A arm front suspension, and dropped spindles.The front is rolling on 17-inch American Torq Thrust M wheels and on the rear are 20-inch wheels with radial tires, providing a more modern driving experience blended with a higher degree of safety and maneuverability. Remember this 40 was built to be driven!!
Passenger and driver alike will enjoy a fully addressed tan interior with extensive custom touches that make this delivery a stand-out from others, featuring Monte Carlo swivel seat, vintage air conditioning and heat, Iditit tilt steering column with a real wood steering wheel, power windows, a completely custom fiberglass dashboard features real wood trim by Wabbit's Wood Works in Texas and a complete set of glass domed brass gauges by Classic Industries. The headliner is a nice pleated cloth the door panels have custom arm rests and more real woodwork by Wabbit. Also, the front door panels are where the 3D upholstered flames start and they continue down both sides all the way to the back!! The back of the rear door features even more of those sweet 3D flames and scroll work.
The upper and lower floors feature some nice soft carpet with rolled edges, while the back of the upper floor has a hidden, fully carpeted, compartment that features the battery and a carpet covered spare tire with jack and lug wrench. you would be surprised at how many ol'rods don't even carry a spare! This is one rod that has been built for carefree cruising!! All that and there is still enough room to store all your cleaning and dusting supplies out of site to use while you show this beauty off at car shows.
And finally, when you pop the hood you will see more custom, time-consuming touches and a lot of polish and chrome in here!! First off is an orange tangerine pearl engine compartment, featuring a smoothed firewall and a mostly hidden wiring loom. The engine has been dressed up with polished finned goodies featuring the valve covers, PCV valve, oil cap, polished finned spark plug wire looms and at the center, making a cool statement, is a shotgun hood scoop with "Orange angry eyes" Polished AC pump, billet oil dipstick, radiator cap, chromed high amp alternator, real stainless radiator top hose and show braided heater, AC and vacuum lines.
This special delivery has always been garaged and has always been well maintained!! Would make a beautiful rolling billboard for a business owner..... can't think of a cooler way to enjoy a tax write-off for the business and a stress write-off for the owner!!
